(Lol)
I swear if we actually have a daughter it's going to be exactly like this wow my motherhood life is gonna be fun⌠"PleaseâŚjust don't hurt himâŚHe clearly makes her happy, don't ruin it. I already feel bad enough that I broke my promise."
âThey could have said something, told me at least. But no, they sneak off at night, like now, and leave me to worry. I should have never let her stay at his house for a week,â he sat on the floor and pulled his knees to his chest.
"Honey I'm sure they would've but look at how you reacted! She was probably terrified of having Dalton face the fate you want him to." She sat next to him, wrapping her arms around him.
âI wouldnât have reacted if they would have told me,â his voice sounded tear filled as he leaned into her.
"Well let's think about this. Dalton was probably terrified because, well, you're her brother. Dating his best friend's sister? Both of them probably thought it wouldn't be a good idea to say anythingâŚ" She trailed off. Who was she trying to convince? Him or herself because she was feeling self concious of the deja vu from her and Cooper.
âItâs night time, what could they be doing this late?â He ran his fingers through his hair.
"Lots of things, if you think about it. There's the obvious answer that you probably don't want to think about or it could be something innocent. Just a friendly reminder, most of the things we do we do at night. Let's see, there's dinner by candlelight, stargazing, movies, just food and cuddles in the dark."
âWhat do those things lead to?â He mumbled. Suddenly his head shot up, âI hear them,â he growled and stood up to sit at the dining room table. Elizabeth walked through moments later, unaccompanied but the smile on her face and the bounce in her step said it all. âWhere have you been?â Ryan said without looking up like a true father would.
âNowhere just out⌠getting fresh air and stuff,â
Ryan camped causing his chair to hit the ground with force as he pinned her against the wall. He was sure not to hurt her in the process. âDonât lie to me,â
"Ryan let her go! I already told you where she's been and she's here now!" She glanced at Elizabeth apologetically. "I'm sorryâŚI couldn't keep lying to himâŚ"
Unexpectedly, Elizabeth wrapped her arms around the now fuming Ryan and pulled him into a hug. Clearly, this wasnât the first time she had dealt with his rage. âItâs okay Belle, he deserves to know,â she pushed her face into his chest hoping to calm him down.
She wasn't sure what to do but something in her heart told to stay back. Stay on guard. This feeling was familiar, what was it? Then it clicked. Fear. Fear of abuse or some kind of physical harm. Why was it so familiar? Because she'd felt it every single day of her childhood.
Ryanâs balled fists slowly melted as he hugged her. He tried to calm himself because he knew someone would get hurt if he didnât.
She squeezed her eyes shut, fighting back the panic. The feeling turned her blood cold, ice flowing through her veins. Starting from her heart then flowing to the rest of her body, her skin freezing over.
âWhen did it happen?â Ryanâs voice was weak and quiet.
âWhen I first had to stay with him that week I hated him. He was a selfish asshole that did nothing but put other people down but eventually we were forced to talk to each other at dinners and stuff. Communication is a necessity for living with someone. When you get to know him, heâs really sweet and loyal and him being an ass is just a cover up⌠you know that, heâs your best friend. Ryan I need you to listen to me,â she pulled away from the hug just enough to look him in the eyes, âI love him a lot, Iâm alive and Iâm happy. This doesnât change you and me. This isnât like last time I promise it wonât be,â
Ryan nodded slowly, âYou could have just told me. I was stuck worrying that he found out you were alive and came back for you. You said it yourself, communication is a necessity for living with someone,â
She sank to the floor, everything else blocked out. He wouldn't hurt you, he promised. People aren't themselves when they're angry⌠She clenched her jaw, forcing the tears back that tried to come out. This was stupid, she knew that, but terror doesn't listen to logic.
Ryan turned around, âBelle?â He quickly ran over and knelt down by her. He put a hand on her knee softly, âAre you okay?â
She flinched, pulling away from his touch. Pure fear ran through her, electrifying her nerves. You're acting overdramatic. She's protecting herself! Can't you see she's terrified?!
He lifted his hand away, âBelle youâre okay,â he sat next to her and tried to hold her hand.
She bit her lip to try to limit the hyperventilating. Very often, this terror would send her into a panic attack. Much like how it was right now! But she was so used to dealing with it on her own. Usually she'd just let it go and let the attack work her into a blackout.
âBelle look at me,â he turned her head so their eyes met. âLook in my eyes and breath with me Okay?â He hadnât let go of her hand.
Her vision was dim and blurry, clouded by the memories that this emotion force her to re-live. That's it. I'm going to do it. No!! That could kill her! What other choice do we have?? Suddenly, something shut off. A switch in her mind flipped off and everything stopped. She relaxed, strangely calmed and cool. The switch? Yeah, it was the one that let her feel emotion. If she was going to work herself into a faint, in an act of self preservation, her body would shut down her ability to feel emotion as it repaired itself.
(Tvd has take this RP over)
âNo!â As a vampire, Ryan could do the same thing and he recognized it. âBelle please,â
(???)
"Hmm?" Her eyes were pale and dull. Like they still moved and blinked and saw but whatever was behind it had died.
He felt nothing but hurt that seemed to rip through his chest. âWhyâŚâ his voice made it clear how close he was to tears.
"Self preservation. It was either that or get worked into passing out. And I'm sure you wouldn't want to deal with that. You've got enough to deal with already." Her tone was cold and flat. Dead.
âThis doesnât help the situation.â What hurt the most is that she seemed gone. He knew she didnât love him.
