She huffed and stormed out of the bathroom. Darren sat against the lockers in the hallway with his knees pulled to his chest, running his fingers through his hair and he always did when he was stressed. He hadn’t bothered to fix his hair or rebutton his shirt.
Valerie was smiling as she walked put and spotted Darren, “You good bro?”

Valerie was smiling as she walked put and spotted Darren, “You good bro?”
“Huh?” He looked up with red eyes and cherry lip stick on his lips. “Y-Yeah I’m okay,”
“No,” he sighed, “I know that. You’ve breathed life into this place whether you’re willing to believe it or not,”
"I think that's just what happens when you live with someone in general."
Valerie reached into her DRESS POCKET?!?!?! and pulled put a cloth. She handed it to Darren, “I’m guessing I walked in on a sexual assault?”
“No one else has ever made me feel like you do so… it’s more than living with someone,”

Val nodded with a shrug, “Same thing. She’s holding something over you.”
“Yeah. She is. She knows too much about me,”
(I religiously wear a hoodie to school, today mine’s built in.)
“That’s the problem with exes, they always do.”
"Last I saw her she was perfectly fine. Worried as hell probably, but fine."
"I'm a friend of hers, names Valerie."
“Oh,” he smiled a little. “I’m Darren,”
"Nice to meet you in person Darren."
"Aww, glad to know I bring a little bit of joy to your life." She smiled.
"Nice to meet you in person Darren."
“You too,” he stood up. “Do I have lip stick on my face?” He laughed pathetically.
"Aww, glad to know I bring a little bit of joy to your life." She smiled.
“You are the joy in my life,”
"Oh come on, I can't be all the joy in your life."
"Oh come on, I can't be all the joy in your life."
“You’re the only true joy in my life. Accept it,”
He hopped off the couch and went I got he room with the white door wordlessly.
She turned back to the movie, wrapping up in the blankets to try and preserve some of the warmth he gave her.
Hecame back out with the guitar. He realized she was watching a movie but he wanted to hold it. “Hey. Are you willing to play mom for a day?”
"Don't I do that every day?" She chuckled.
