Alistair drives through the empty, snow-covered streets. It doesn't take long to get to Tony's home. "Nice place," Alistair comments as they pull up. "I like the landscaping."

"Thanks." he says, humming softly as he slowly gets out of the car. He fumbles for his keys before entering the house. Glitch barks loudly and he easily picks up the small, Japanese Spitz up. "Hey boy." He says, nuzzling the dog.

Alistair waited in the car for Tony to get Glitch. Looking out the window, he watched the light snowfall and wondered how a car crash and a hospital visit had somehow made his day better.

Antoine returns to the car with the dog tucked into the jacket. He laughs softly. "Alistair, this is Glitch." He says as he enters the car.

"Hullo, Glitch!" Alistair greets the dog with a bright smile. "He's adorable!!"

Glitch barks happily, wagging his tail. Antoine chortles a little and smiles, "He is pretty cute, huh?" He hums, bringing the dog out of his jacket.

"He's so fluffy!" Alistair cooed happily, softly scratching Glitch behind the ears. "I love him already."

Glitch barks happily, licking Alistair, his fluffy tail wagging. He puts his paw on Alistairs upper arm so he can lick the male's face. "I'm glad you like him." Antoine says softly.

Alistair laughed, his eyes lighting up, as Glitch licked his face. "Oh- haha, that tickles!" he giggled.

Glitch barks before settling down, hopping back into Antoine's lap.

Alistair smiles at Tony. "You buckled in?" he asks. "Safety first."

Antoine smiles, buckles up and holds Glitch on his lap. "We're good." Glitch barks in agreement.

"Alrighty, tally-ho, then, as we stereotypically say in England," Alistair said grinning.

Antoine snickers softly and Glitch barks, wagging his tail excitedly.

Upon returning to his apartment, Alistair showed Antoine where the dog food and dishes were, then turned the stove back on to finish making dinner. "The sauce just has to warm up, but the spaghetti needs to boil longer."

Antoine nods, feeding Glitch. He smiles. "Sounds good."

Nodding and going to sit at his kitchen table, Alistair pulls out his phone and reads over his messages:

Dad: Don't even think about coming home for Christmas
Dad: Christmas is for family ONLY

Alistair: Please, mom, can you talk to dad for me?
Mom: No, Alistair. He's right.
___

Alistair put his phone on the table, leaned back and closed his eyes, sighing.

Antoine looks towards him. "You alright, Alistair?" He asks quietly, his gaze gentle.

Alistair opened his eyes and smiled wearily. "Huh? Oh, yes, of course, I'm fine," he replied. He got up to check on the pasta, leaving his phone on the table.

Antoine hesitated before he looks at the others phone curiously. He knew he shouldn't, but Alistair looked so unhappy.

"I'm going to go to the restroom really quick, can you keep an eye on the pasta?" Alistair called.

Antoine sets the phone down. "Yeah." He says nonchalantly, walking into the kitchen.

Alistair leaves, petting Glitch on his way, and heads to the loo.

Antoine returns to the phone. His gaze narrows. He was going to see what was going on.

Could you send like a text or something and he sees it?//

Dad: You are a disgrace to this family

Sis: Al, is it true?

Antoine stares at the phone. Nervously he watches the incoming texts. What could a kind man like Alistair do to be a disgrace?

After washing his hands, Alistair looks at himself in the mirror. He practices a smile a few times, but none look quite right. He sighs and rubs his face
