"Although it would be interesting, having you as my girlfriend."

"How would it be interesting?" She asked as they made their way back home. All she wanted to do was take a shower and relax till the party tonight.

"Well, I mean, just…. I wouldn't mind, I'd actually like it. But it's probably just a stupid fantasy."

"I'm confused." Earlier she said it was just hypothetically, but now it just sounds like a confession. Kenzi didn't want to say anything though because she didn't want to make April mad. "I'm going to a party tonight, if you want to join." She changed the subject.

"That would be great!" April said, a little bit too quickly.

"Really? Cool." Kenzi smiled. "We still have a while though, so we should get some rest and take a shower when we get home." She actually really excited that April said yes. Usually she didn't come. "Jess and Joe will be there, so it's going to be fun!"

"Oh. Joe. Right." said Jealous April.

"Yeah it's hard to believe Jess has stayed with him for six months. You know her, he bounces from guy to guy so quick." Kenzi grinned, she could tell April didn't like him and Kenzi didn't like him that way. She liked girls more. "So, they will met us there at seven."

"Hmm. Alright." she said, still unsure.

Kenzi unlocked the door and walked inside taking her hair down. "Do you want to take a shower first?" She asked, then took a drink of her water.

"Nah, you can."

"Okay." Kenzi went in her room and locked her door. She was pretty tense with what happened earlier and now she could finally relax. She jumped in the shower and sighed under the hot shower.

April changed out of her jogging clothes into a hoodie and sweatpants, she just wanted to relax.

Kenzi came out in sweat pants and a crop top. Her hair was still a mess, it was showing her natural curls though. "You're not going to take a shower?" She asked, sitting on the couch.

"Nah, I'm fine." she said.

"I wish my hair was straight, so it would look like a mess all the time." Kenzi laugh a bit, still trying to dry her hair. "You're lucky you have short hair. It must be easy to take care of."

"Yeah, much easier. And then again not."

"You look good with short hair. Me on the other hand wouldn't." Kenzi cut her hair back in middle school and everyone made fun of her, so she didn't do it again.

"I dunno, you might?"

"I got bullied in middle school because of having short hair, so that's not happening again." And for being a bit over weight, that's why she is so obsessed with staying fit, but she's not going to tell April that.

"People are jerks, but that's no reason to never do something again. I'm sure you'd look fine however you cut your hair." April smiled.

"Well, thank you." Kenzi threw her hair up into a messy bun. "Have you ever had your hair long or has it always been short?"

"I had it long up until high school, which incidentally also when I learned short hair was easier to take care of." she said, adding in her mind, And also realized I was lesbian as heck.

"Do you have a picture?" Kenzi was super curious on how she looked like back in high school. High school is when Kenzi started working out, so it wasn't as bad.

"No, I never liked having my picture taken back then. Even now, really. Mum's probably got a picture though, I could ask her."

"Really, You would show me?" Excitement surged through her and she moved closer, her eyes were sparkling. She gets to see April in high school. It seemed silly, but she was happy.

"Yeah, it's not like it's that big a deal, honestly." April laughed.

"Okay, then I'll show you a picture of me in high school. Of course only if you want to see it." Kenzi already had her phone in her hand when she asked, and glanced at April.

"Sure, I guess. Why not?"

Kenzi pulled up an old selfie she took of herself when she was in high school. Her hair was her natural dirty blonde hair it was straightened and shoulder length and she wasn't wearing makeup. Thank goodness she's always had good skin. In the picture she was holding up a piece sign and smiling. The only reason she kept this picture is because she looked decent in it. "That's me."
