"Ah, Lucas. I can still talk to you. Remember when I got really sick and you couldn't touch me? It'll be just like that. I'll still be a brother, just not one you can touch." He smiled softly. "It's so extra amazing to see you again, brother. I hope you know that I won't be going back to the spirit world for a while now."

William’s head burst with pain and the spirits screamed. Something wasn’t right, something wasn’t okay. He jerked his head to the lower decks, he legs and feet moving by some phantom force. He was running, hauling open the cabin doors. Was he… searching for something?

@Fraust

Lucas laughed weakly. "Yeah, but we were so close that I got sick anyways. We were stuck in the house for weeks." He tried to wipe some of the tears from his face, hiccuping. "Can… can the others see you, or only me?"

Deleted user

"I can see him too, Lucas," Bahari told him, and Claus nodded. "Only those who summoned me can see me. I assume this beautiful young lady helped a bit?" He smiled, nodding to Bahari.

William hurled open the door with a ghostly force controlling his arm, and he saw why the spirits screamed and tugged him all the way here, “Stop. Stop it now.” He demanded, panting heavy. He stood into the room. The boy was clear and physical for him to see. It was so dangerous. The world found another connecting point here, and if something else came over, “Stop this now.” No one had known about these kind of effects, but it was hard for William not to know when the spirits screamed the dangers at him. They were in pain.

Bahari looked up. "Is it hurting you?" Claus looked frightened at William and seemed to recognize his face. With a sad smile to Lucas, he flickered away.

@Fraust

"C-Claus! No!" Lucas stood up, reaching out towards the place where his brother had vanished. More tears rolled down his cheeks as he looked over at William fearfully.

“You could have killed someone,” William breathed, “You don’t know, you can’t just summon the dead.” William clenched and unclenched his fists, but the pain in his head was residing and the spirits approached fearfully. Sure, they sentenced him to the worst possible future, but he already had a solution and they eere like his family. He would still protect them.

Bahari placed a hand on Lucas's shoulder and walked over to William. "That was Lucas's brother. Unless it was hurting you, you have no right to make him go away like that." Her voice was stern and her body shifted so that it was shielding Lucas.

@Fraust

"He… h-he wasn't gonna hurt anyone!" Lucas shrunk against the wall, terrified at what William could or might do. "He's my brother…" He finished in a whisper, his voice cracking as he slid down to the floor.

“You risked all of our lives!” William exclaimed, “You made a connection between two worlds, do you think that it’s a private connection?!? Demons can get through that connection, and we could have died, unprepared for an attack! Besides, you make them scream out terrors, it hurts them. You rip the worlds.” William threw his hands in the air. He knew he should be more gentle, with the crying boy, but he couldn’t calm down. That fact alone made him shudder. I can’t control my own emotions…

Bahari turned around and picked Lucas up, holding his head against the top of her shoulder. "William." She began sternly. "I know you are having immense trouble with the spirits and I try to help you with that. But look at what you've done to Lucas. Please tell me why exactly you made his brother, whom he has not seen in years, dissapear in front of his eyes?" Her tone has turned steely and cold.

@Fraust

Lucas covered his face with his hands, sobbing. "P-Please… I… I didn't mean to upset you… I-I just wanted to see my brother again…" He coughed and cowered against Bahari's shoulder, trembling. He won't hurt me… will he? I hope not… He seemed to be bracing himself for some sort of impact, just in case.

William’s tone matched hers, with a voice that seemed foreign to him, “That summon made a bridge between the spirit world and our world. Anything could have come through that. And we could be dead.” That voice wasn’t his, but was. Only he could tell that it was like being caught up in a strong gust. He slowly grounded to a halt, but was still tense. It was dangerous when she opened the tunnel.

"Then we will make it so it only opens for Claus, Lucas, and I to monitor. I do not want to argue with you, William." With that, she breezed out of the cabin to her own quarters, Lucas on her shoulder.

Deleted user

William charged after her, grabbing her wrist, “No. It’s not something to ‘monitor’. They will come faster than you can blink and we will all be dead. Do you wish us dead?” William demanded.

Bahari locked his gaze with a fierce intensity that would wither even the greatest of politicians to dust. "No. But it has been done before - by my grandmother." She shook away from his grasp and power walked down the ship.

Deleted user

“Your grandmother did not talk to spirits like I am.” William said, then looked at the boy. If Bahari wouldn’t listen… “Are you really that selfish to put us at risk of death?”

@Fraust

Lucas lay his head on top of Bahari's, hiccuping and trying to wipe his tears away. Stop crying… it couldn't have lasted anyways. It never does. Nothing ever lasts, at least not for you. That's why your whole family's gone. You must have angered the spirits somehow… He looked back at William, upset, but still wondering whether he was okay from the whole ordeal earlier. "I-I… I don't understand… I don't wanna hurt anyone, I just… I just wanna see my family again.."

Bahari stopped dead and put Lucas down, ushering him into another room and closing the door. Then she spun around. "I do not want to argue with you. Lucas must see his brother. We polynesians were first to tame spirits. My mother won't be the last."

“It puts the crew, the world, in danger. Much less, it hurts us.” William had never thought of him like a spirit before, but he was becoming one anyways. He could feel it. So he embraced it, “It hurts us,” He repeated for emphasis.

@EmptyNebula group

Simone walked up to Cocco when she heard him barking. He was running around the deck and looking at something that made him jump up and down. Simone diverted her attention towards what he was looking at. Very near and not far off into the distance she could see the island they were looking for. She saw Bahari coming down and entering a room and before she could make it she had shut the door so she decided to wait.

@Fraust

Lucas halfheartedly attempted to open the door to get back out, but he couldn't quite reach the handle. After failing at his task, he stumbled over to a dark corner of the empty room to curl up into a ball, not even bothering to try and stop his tears at this point. He had been so close to being with his brother again, but yet again, he was snatched away from him at the last moment.

Deleted user

"You have hurt Lucas, and that is all that matters now. I will speak to you later," Bahari turned and walked into the room where she had put Lucas.
"Lucas, darling?"

@Fraust

"Y-Yes, ma'am?" Lucas wiped some of the tears from his face, looking up as Bahari approached and attempting to make it seem as though he hadn't just been bawling his eyes out.

William walked out of the lower decks, the spirits the only things he could hear. They don’t respect your word… They think you to be sham… They think that her grandmother knows more than you, one who actually can talk to us… At that moment, William began to whisper back, “We’ll all die. All because of foolish, selfish decisions. Just like before, I’ll just offer myself up to protect them.” William spat the last bit.

Deleted user

"No need to call me ma'am." Bahari set Lucas in her lap and began to sway a bit. "I know you've been crying. I didn't mean to interrupt. Keep going." She began to sing a little tune softly.

@Fraust

Lucas lay his head against Bahari's chest, hiccuping as he gradually dozed off. Eventually he had fallen asleep with his arms wrapped around Bahari's neck, tear tracks scattered across his pale face.

William clutched his head. A small, faint part of him told him to go through the excerises Ailith told him, but the rest was just done trying to be nice to these people. They think they know more than you. I can guarantee that NO ONE has opened that passage safely. They just believe that it’s safe, but it make us spirits scream. It hurts us, William. It hurts you.
William gripped the side of the ship, the spirits making him harbor such thoughts.

(awwwwwwwwwwwww I love him ackkk)
Bahari saw that he was asleep, and stood up gently to take him back to his own quarters. Laying him down on the bed, she kneeled in front of it and kept singing.
