Two guards took Conner by the arm and led him out of the room. "Hey, I can walk on my own." He removed their hands from him. "Thank you very much." If he could stay anywhere, he was going to find a nice room in this place. Conner wandered the halls looking in every room for a place to stay. As he was searching, Conner stumbled upon a library. It was the biggest library he has ever seen. "I wonder what kind of books a demon would have?"
Eves older sister Anne sat in the library reading on of her favorite books. Of course since this was hell the books weren't very good. And they all ended on cliff hangers.
"This one looks cool." Honestly he couldn't understand it, but it still looked cool. It was a dark leather with gold on it. When he took it off the shelf, he fell to the ground. "This book is something else." Using all his strength he picked it up and sat at a table, not nothing the person across from him.
Eve walked in a looked from Anne to Connor, "you know all the books here suck right?" She stated a bit annoyed. She hated be the challenge. But one thing was sure it was fun watching them fail.
"Is that so.." He raised an eyebrow not looking up. He honestly didn't want to be near anyone right now, so why did she follow him? She hated him as he hated her. "I can't read it of course, but the pictures are interesting." That sounded like something a child would say and he didn't like it.
"You're such a child" eve looked to her sister, "dad said moms here to pick you up," Eve hated her sister for taking after their mom more. They both had the same red hair but Anne didn't have red or black eyes. She didn't have horns. She was a spitting image of an angel. "And by the way, that book you're reading is about tortcher" Eves eyes shifted back to Connor.
Conner pushed the book way as soon as she said that, his eyes following the book till it hit someone in front of him. "I'm so, sorry." She's really pretty. No, Conner shes still a demon. Pushing the thought away he quickly put the book back. "I didn't realize someone else was here. Sorry again."
"Oh its alright" Anne smiled at him. "I'm guessing my father gave you challenge for you to leave this place?" Anne asked.
"Anne! Didn't you here me? Moms here. I'd go before I take your spot if I where you" Eve glared at her sister.
"Yeah he did." Conner narrowed his eyes at Eve. "Well I should go." He started walking to the door, but stopped before exiting the room. "My name is Conner, it's nice to meet you, Anne." Walking by Eve he whispered in her ear. "You need to learn to not be so uptight." He smiled. Before walking down the hall. He needed to find a room, and he probably won't be going in there again if the books are about torture.
Uptight!? I am not uptight! She almost shouted out loud. Eve glared after him. Anne gave Eve the 'why are you so angry?' Look. Before she slipped out of the room to leave.
Finally after searching for who knows how long, he found a room. A little too medieval and dark for him, but all he'll be doing is sleeping in here. "What do you even do for fun around here?" He knew no one was going to answer because he was alone in this room. Or at least he thinks he is. "How am I supposed to make someone like that fall for me?" Conner's never had a girlfriend or fallen in love, so he knows nothing about this.
A bell rang out threw the castle indicating diner. Eve made her way down stairs and into the dinning room. Connor, by human means looked nice. At least that's what Eve thought. Her father on the other hand didn't think as so much as to why humans liked each other for looks. To him it was a mistary.
Conner covered his ears has the bell went off. "Sir, dinner is ready." A voice came from the other side of the door. There's no way I can go down looking like this. Satan had to have some kind of dress code right? Looking around in the closet he found a few nice suits and hoped Mr. Satan wouldn't mind. Something clicked in Conner's mind. What if these were the past people's clothes? He thought. Something about that though made him cringe, but he changed anyway. The dark blue suit fit him nice, and he brushed his hair back with his fingers. This was going to be the best he could get for now. As he opened the door, the person that called him earlier was there and walked him to the dinning room. "Sorry, I'm late." He straightened his jacket before sitting down.
Eve looked up at Connor annoyed by his lateness. "Someone decided to wear a dead mans suit I see" the man who owned that suit originally wasn't really dead. It was impossible to die here. And least just say if you did you wouldn't stay dead for long. After all it was eternal suffering.
(Sorry nootbook is gliching for me rn and not saying when I have texts)
(Yeah it's the same for me.)
"Well, if hes not here might as well." He stood over to the chair next to Eve. "Plus, I can't look like I did earlier to a dinner with Satan himself." Conner was starting to get use to things a bit more and relax. Freaking out wasn't going to help, and he didn't want to hide his real personality. No one wants to fall in love with a fake person. Even if Eve was a demon, she was still a girl and deserved the best. Weird, I never thought that I would think something like that. "So, what is for dinner."
"The souls of the innocent," Eve joked laughing to herself a bit. "No I'm just kidding, lamb chops" she shrugged. "And its not like my father shows up for dinner anyway so dressing up is pointless." She said even though she herself was wearing a black dress.
"I've never had lamb chops before." He looked over at her for the first time tonight. "You look nice." He smiled at her before looking away. Like he said when he first got here, she was pretty, he just couldn't stand her personality much. Maybe that will change as he gets to know her. "Wait, so if you do fall in love with me, won't it be horrible if I left?" He hadn't thought about that till now. Not like she will, but who knows.
"That's the point of the game. The hole plan" Eve gave him a duh look "heart break can bring a demons full power out." And that's what her father wanted.
"Ah." That makes a bit of sense. "And have you not fallen in love because of that, or have you just not found the right one." He did air quotes at the last part. He didn't want to break her heart, he wasn't that kind of guy. "If you do fall in love with me, I wouldn't want to break your heart." He made an X with his arms so she wouldn't hurt him. "That's only if you do though."
"And who's to say I even like humans" she hadn't fallen in love before Becuse it was pointless to her. "Love isn't really my thing. I'd rather send you straight to the firey depths"
"Ha ha, yep, um. When is the food coming out?" He tried to change the topic, off of love because it seems she's not fond of the thought of being with a human. Conner on the other hand wants to fall in love some day, if he makes it out of here that is. "What do you do for fun down here?"
Almost as soon as he mentionex the food a maid came out holding to plates and placed them infrount of them.
"For fun around here? Ha! You do realize this is hell, take a wild guess" Eve was quite annoyed with this human. "And just in case you're to dense to figure it out, its tortcher" she began to eat not even sparing a glance at the human.
(Oof sorry she's so rude rn.)
(Its fine haha.)
"It was just a question." He started to cut his lamb chop. "No need to be so rude." He took a bite and slumped in his seat, not caring how he looks right now. Conner didn't know how to handle this girl. "Listen I hate this just as much as you do. Do you think Inwant you to fall in love with me. No." He snapped back.
Eves eyes flashed a dangerous shade of red and black as she spoke, "if I where you I'd be careful. After all you're in my home." She ate with out even bothering to cut the lamb chops first. "And for the record, you're not gonna win this game. So give up already" she'd never been challenged by a human before. Most didn't even try to make eye contact with her, or even talk to her! But this one. She was slightly surprised by him.
He grinned and rested his head on his hand. "We'll see about that. That's it, he was definitely going to win this, he thought. "And go ahead a kill me, I'll just come back, I guess." Conner went back to eating, with the grin still on his face.
"Doesn't mean it won't hurt" she gave him a challengeing look. But to be honest she wasn't sure that she'd win this one. This human, Connor, was determined.
"Oh, I never doubted that it wouldn't. I'm just saying that I won't die and you'll just have to live with me." He shrugged a shoulder and drank some water. She was interesting if nothing else. *He was now determined to win this challenge.
Eve stood "then I'll see you in the morning. Good luck" she glared at him one last time before heading off to her room for the night.
He watched as she left. Now it was just him, eating alone. Conner didn't mind the silence, but now he had to prepare for the torture Eve would bring tomorrow. "This is going to be fun!" Sarcasm dripped out of his mouth. "Thank you for the meal." He pushed his plate away and left to his room.
When Eve woke in the morning she dressed in a black dress as usual and looked out the window. like many other mornings humans where usared into the gates and locked in till they severed their sentience. Some would wait years, others an eternity.
