‘Where are we going?” Marcos asked quietly, sadly. Knowing he’d have to come up with some excuse about why he was hurt.
‘Where are we going?” Marcos asked quietly, sadly. Knowing he’d have to come up with some excuse about why he was hurt.
“We’re going to the hospital.” Justin states as he puts Marcos in the passenger seat of his car.
“But- But they’re going to ask questions. And they’re going to want money,” Marcos said fearfully, pulling his legs close to him and shrinking in the seat.
“Why can’t you answer any questions? What did happen?” Justin asked as he got in the drivers seat and started to drive away.
“I-“ Marcos scrambled for words, and ended up settling for another half truth, “I was walking through town and then there was a man who was hurling cars and another who was running really fast and a piece of metal went flying at me. It hit me in the back of my neck, then I fell and hit my head in the pavement.” Marcos looked at Justin for a reaction.
“Wait. What?” He was there? I hope he didn’t see me. Justin froze in his seat.
“There was a lot of stuff going on. It happened really fast. I think I passed out after I hit my head,” Marcos added, still studying Justin’s face. It looked something like… panic? Why would Justin be panicked? Oh, probably because he’s worried for my injuries…
(Hi)
I don’t recall anyone else being passed out. “What were you doing there anyway?” Justin forced himself to have a more relaxed face as he drove.
“I-“ Marcos once again scrambled for a reason, “I was going to look at the bike I wanted.” Marcos looked at the floor of the car, and then added to turn the conversation, “I’m sorry I crashed into your bed, I didn’t even realize.”
“If you didn’t you might be dead. From now on don’t go out without me. That’s two injuries in a row.” Two injuries that seem oddly familiar. Justin focused on the road while driving to the hospital.
Justin could not go out with him when he turned into Polaris. He hated how rude he sounded, but said anyways, “I don’t think you would’ve been able to do anything. The one guy was throwing cars with his mind and the other was incredibly fast. Like super fast,“ Marcos shook his head, “You got an injuries two yesterday, I mean sure it was the sink, but still.”
“Yes, but I might have been able to help you sooner.” Justin pulled up to the hospital, parking in the nearest empty spot. So he saw me while I was Hann…
(Oh wait, shoot, I just realized I’ve been calling him ‘Hanns’ instead of Hann. Whoops)
Marcos tightened his arms around himself, “Are you sure we have to go here? I’m doing better already,” Marcos lied, but only because he didn’t have any money coming in enough to pay for medical bills. He just couldn’t do this.
“Yup. Still going to check you out.” Justin picked him up once again and brought him inside.
“I don’t have money,” Marcos finally confessed, holding on tightly to Justin. He really could walk, but… Justin was too irresistible.
“I’ll pay. It’s no problem.” Justin went up to the front desk. A gurney came out almost immediately and Justin set Marcos on it.
“No, you can’t pay for me! That’s too much!” Marcos exclaimed. He couldn’t let his best friend and crush pay for his medical bills. It didn’t even matter that Justin was rich, he just couldn’t let him pay. Marcos would feel terrible. He was about to say something else, but the nurses were already taking him to a room. He hoped Justin would follow so he could talk him out of paying Marcos’s medical bills
“When it’s life or death, I will pay.” Justin tried to follow but the nurses stopped him, telling him that Marcos was at an extreme blood loss and would need surgery. So Justin took a seat in the waiting room after he watched Marcos go around the corner.
The nurses carted him to a room, and a doctor was there not too long after, already getting out a needle. Marcos looked hesitantly at the doctor’s tool, “What’s that for?”
The lady looked over, “You lost a lot of blood. That gash in the back of your neck is probably already infected, and you need a tetanus shot,” Marcos just realized the nurses had took off the bandage Justin had given him. One nurse was wiping down the inside of his elbow, “You probably have a concussion,” The lady walked over right next to him. Readying the needle, “We’re going to knock you out, okay?”
Before Marcos could react, his body went slack and sleep hit him like a train, the pain of the needle overlooked.
Marcos slowly woke, but didn’t open his eyes. He wondered if Justin was still sleeping, completely forgeting that he was in the hospital. He made a tired smile, still with his eyes closed, “Morning Justin.”
Justin stood up from the chair he had been sitting in next to Marcos’ bed. “You’re awake?”
Marcos’s eyes fluttered open. His brain was still hazy from whatever they knocked him out with. He blinked a few times, tilted his rp head to the right as he starred at Justin, “Where am I?”
(Hi :)
"You don't remember? You're in the hospital." Justin walked over to the bed Marcos was in.
Marcos blinked a few times then remembering the events leading up to him being in the hospital. His mind snagged on the fact at how Justin had carried him into the hospital, but what panicked him most was the money. Marcos looked hopelessly at Justin, “You can’t pay, Justin. It’s- It’s not fair.”
"It won't even be that much. Insurance will pay most of it." Justin sat down on the corner of Marcos' bed.
“I don’t have good insurance though, I-I can’t let you pay for me,” Marcos felt terrible. He needed to separate himself from Justin, he needed to stomp his crush into the ground. If Justin kept paying for him, if he kept tiptoeing over the lines around Justin, like how Justin had carried him, Marcos would just be heartbroken all over again and cause a huge mess.
Justin gave a slight confused look so a second while thinking. "Did I never tell you? I added you onto my insurance a couple months ago. It was a cheaper deal."
“Wait what?” Marcos was absolutely stunned, “B-But I have bad credit, I didn’t think I’d be able to-“ It was so unbelievable, Marcos just sat there for a good few seconds, stunned. Then in a heartbeat, Marcos couldn’t stop himself, he flung his arms around Justin in a hug. He hadn’t realized he’d been in one of the hospital gowns until a draft went over his bare back. Marcos sat back down quicker than a blink, tugging at the hospital gown with a blush coming to his face.
"Your bad credit doesn't matter on my insurance since its under my name." Justin was slightly surprised by the hug and was about to hug back when Marcos sat back down.
