"I was worried, to say the least…" he says, tasting a bit of the batter. "Vanilla…" he mutters. "I had to admit you were gone for quite a long time."
"I was worried, to say the least…" he says, tasting a bit of the batter. "Vanilla…" he mutters. "I had to admit you were gone for quite a long time."
"You don't think I just let the people push me down?" Marlene asks. "There was quite a fight first. Drunkard fights can last a while. I'm so sorry I worried you." She apologizes again.
He chuckles softly, "It's okay." He hums softly, "You were gone long enough that I dropped by the store, and returned when you got back. Unfortunately, they were out of stock of what I needed." He says, shrugging lightly.
"The store? I must have been gone longer than I thought." Marlene caressed her bandaged hand.
"Yeah." He sighs softly, placing the cookies in the oven. "What icecream do you want?" he asks, looking up.
"We have ice cream? Do we have coffee bean? If we don't, then I like mint chip. This is a seriously amazing dessert, you know." Marlene commented, trying to shift to a position that didn't put her shoulder blade in agony every time she moved her back.
"I have coffee bean." He chuckles. "I have so many flavors of ice cream it's not even funny." He chuckles, grabbing the coffee bean and the tin roof sundae. "Why don't you pick a movie to watch?" He asks smiling a little.
"Ummm…how many do you have? I happen to like horror, but I don't think that's something you would have." She suggests, wincing. Her shoulder blade was killing her. She didn't want to go to the hospital, but she wouldn't be able to go to classes tomorrow if she didn't do something - much less fight the reaper.
"Horror is actually my favorite." he says chuckling. "Here, use this." He hands her an ice pack. "Just tell me if you need anything." Antoine hums as he grabs the ice cream, chuckling a little to himself.
Marlene puts the ice cream behind her back. "Thanks. Do you have Scream 4? I watched everything up until then. It's turning out to be pretty good." The ice pack kept it from hurting, but it didn't fix what was probably a fracture. She couldn't wear an ice pack everywhere she went.
"I do. I have the entire series, actually." He chuckles. He looks at her. "Shouldn't we get your shoulder checked out?" He asks gently.
"I don't know. I don't want to go to a hospital, but I've already checked it for a bruise but don't see anything like it, so it's probably a fracture." She shudders. "I really don't want to go to the hospital." Hospitals were one of the grim reaper's favorite places - and so many things could go wrong.
He nods and smiles, "I could patch it up… it's just gonna hurt a lot." Antoine offers. "I don't have pain meds or a way to knock you out."
Marlene sighs. "I used to volunteer at a Civil War history park. They'd use whiskey under the nose to knock the patient out. Got any alcohol?" She was desperate to do anything but the hospital.
"I do, actually. Emergency stash." He chuckles, grabbing the liquid. "Are you sure you want me to knock you out though?"
"Yes. I won't be bothered." Marlene lies down on the couch and takes the alcohol in her hand, uncorking the bottle and holding it up under her nose. There are about two minutes of silence before her eyes flutter closed, the bottle hanging limply in her hand.
Antoine takes a breath before setting to work on her shoulder. It took a while, but he finally leaned back, done. He gently slaps her cheek. "Rise and shine, sweetheart." He says teasingly.
Marlene's eyes slowly flutter open to Antione's teasing face looking down at her. She tries to sit up, but what must be stitches sear her, almost ready snap from the strain. She leans back, regretting the decision. "How long will it hurt like this? Thanks, by the way. You do sticthes, yeah?"
"Yep. And only a little. I have Ibuprofen in the cabinet." He says, humming softly.
"It's…it's fine. How about ice cream?" Marlene struggled to sit up, gritting through the pain of her new stitches.
"Alright. Ice cream it is." He smiles a little, grabbing the bowls and serving the ice cream. "I'll get the movie started."
"Alright." Marlene settled onto the couch, vowing to keep still until she was sure there'd be no pain. "You use silver or silk thread?"
"Silk, since it was what I had available." he says, glancing at her as he started the movie.
"Ah. So we'll have to remove them later." Marlene commented, taking the bowl of ice cream and digging in. "Alright."
"Yep." He sighs softly, eating his ice cream as well.
"When'll that be? Four weeks?" The previews start to play.
"About." he answers. Antoine glances at her. "I'm just glad it was a smaller one."
"Me, too. Some of the things I've seen in those hospitals…" Marlene shuddered. "Anyway, let's watch this girl here get murdered. Oof, that sounded dark." She laughed.
Antoine laughed as well, "I find it interesting how you hate hospitals, yet I'm training to work at one." He says. "And lets."
"You are? Cool. I don't know, I just…uncomftrable."
