She froze when she saw him. Should I risk it? Too late, it's happening. "Is this step taken?" She chuckled, sitting down next to him and lighting her cigarette. "Ahh sweet sweet nicotine, fill my veins and make me strong."

Lillian sat up and frowned, "Think we were too cruel?"
She wiped the fake blood from her neck with her sleeve.
He looked over at her, a smile gracing his face when he saw her. Suddenly the dark domineer he had been carrying around for weeks was dropped in an instant. "Belle," he seemed surprised.
"Nice to see you still remember me." She took another drag, watching the smoke rise through the air.
Lillian sat up and frowned, "Think we were too cruel?"
She wiped the fake blood from her neck with her sleeve.
"No, I don't think they're madā¦"
"As if I'm allowed to forget," he joked, trying to calm down, "What's new with you?"
"Depends. Do you wanna hear the truth or the thing you wanna hear?"
"Depends. Do you wanna hear the truth or the thing you wanna hear?"
"I mean⦠I⦠I just wanted to know what's new in your life⦠We don't really talk anymore,"
"Well, I'll tell you then." She sighed, preparing herself for his reaction. "I'm getting married. That's the biggest thing that's happening. Ryan proposed on my birthday. It was really sweet, you had to be there."
His eyes grew wide and trailed down to her finger, the moment he saw the ring he clenched his jaw and turned away from it, mentally kicking himself for not being more observant before. Every memory, the good and the bad flashed through his head in an instant making him feel like he could pass out and before he could completely process his thoughts, he spoke, "Are you happy?"
"Of course. He completes me. I couldn't have found anyone better." She smiled softly at the ring, her heart skipping a beat.
Those words. They should have cut him open and tore him apart but despite the tears in his eyes he smiled, she was happy with him. He could see that now and that's all that mattered⦠That she was happy. He would easily sacrifice his own happiness for her's, he loved her. "Then I'm happy for you, you deserve to be happy,"
Your eyes say otherwise. "I know I shouldn't do this because it'll probably murder you inside but you're invited to the wedding if you want to come."
A tear rolled down his face which he quickly brushed away as he cleared his throat, "I'd love to come⦠Do youā¦.. Do you have a date?"
"The 22nd of either May or June. We haven't decided yet." 6 months. 6 months and then I'll be married!
He took her hand gently in his and pulled it closer carefully to see the ring closer, or at least that was his excuse for touching her.
She resisted the urge to yank her hand back and let him inspect her ring. "It's pretty, isn't it? I can't imagine what it cost him."
He let go of her hand, "It is, I bet it cost him quite a bit," Do you hate me? Did I hurt you too badly for us to ever be friends? Can you hear me, do you know that you're the only thing that passes through my mind day in and day out? Do you know how much I love you, will you ever? His brain screamed, insisting that he do something about the opportunity in front of him but he knew better by now. He went against every instinct he had, it took every inch of his attention.
If this dude tries to kiss me again, I'm screaming rape. He nearly broke my relationship once, I won't let him do it again. She pulled her hand back, watching the ring shimmer in the light to avoid looking at him.
He wouldn't do that, he didn't want to hurt her but every move he made seemed to damage her in some way or another. "I'm sorry Belle," he looked over at her, finally willing to make eye contact and not giving up when he saw she wasn't looking back. I can't stand it when I'm staring in her eyes and she's not looking back but this is normal⦠She's never looking back at me.
Her eyes flicked over to him, meeting his gaze. "You have a lot to be sorry for, you're gonna have to be specific on what."
"Everything. I'm sorry for everything I've ever done to make you feel like less, you're amazing and I know you don't see that but all I used to do was drag you down and you came out on top. You found someone that completes you and I want you to be happy, I can't tell whether or not you hate me most times I see you, it's a hit or miss but I really hope you don't," It was Cooper, no ego, no harsh words, just him. The way he used to be, kindhearted and whole. "I really am sorry," She had a few things to be sorry about too but he didn't expect an apology.
Oh so we have the Cooper we know back from the grave for a while. "What happened? That's my question. During those years youā¦changed. Went from being kind and gentle, maybe a bit cocky but that was normal, to a complete douchebag. What happened? What changed you?"
"I never dealt with my emotions. In less than a year, my entire world fell apart and I never stopped to mourn my losses. I just kept moving like nothing happened, it was my mask but now my brother is sick with the same thing that ruined my life the first time," he sighed, "In the past month or so I've had to deal with my emotions. You being one of those things, it's humbling I guess?" Don't do the thing you're about to do⦠Stopā¦
"Humbling? The boy I ran from wasn't the boy I met and that's all that our experience was to you? Just another person to deal with?" She kept her voice light, not mad, just questioning.
"No Iā I loved you, I love you so much and I know that I wasn't a good person, I know that I changed. I was selfish and Impatient, I treated you as if you were just a toy and I get why you ran." he clenched his fist in his lap, squeezing so tightly it was white.
"It hurt you know." She muttered quietly. "It hurt to see the first boy I'd ever loved change so much. But no matter how you acted, I still loved you. The only day I stopped loving you was when I had to protect my own life."
(Hey guys! I think I'm gonna leave the RP for awhile. Some stuff went down and I don't think I'm safe on here anymore)
(Oh god, are you okay?)
He laid his head down between his knees and watched the tears splash across the dry step he sat on, "I never stopped," he said quietly, "I still love you," his nails dug into his skin from the fist that only seemed to tighten.
