M led her outside through the double doors and stuck his arm out, silently looking the other way.
"Stop living like this M.." She said quietly.
“Just grab my arm, North,” He growled stiffly.
"Why? So we can just go back and act like none of this ever happened?"
“Act like what didn’t happen? We have a problem to solve!”
"With you going around being mad at everyone for something that that happened years ago?"
“It’s a problem you don’t even know the context of. Grab on!”
"I'm trying to help you!" She yelled, taking a step forward and looking up at him.
“I don’t need your help! Nothing can change what Death did, period. Grab on, or go home, North!”
"Then why are you still mad?!" She laced her fingers together to keep them from shaking as she stared up at him.
“Because, what Death did was unacceptable.” M put his arm down. “I’m going by myself, then?”
"No, i'm coming. But you should tell me what he did first."
“No. I’m not going to tell you, it’s my business.” He roughly stuck his hand out again.
She frowned up at him and gripped his hand tightly.
North blinked and they stood on an… extremely breezy field. “First orb…” M grumbled, “Wind. It’s here somewhere, as you can see.” He gestured to a windblown looking tree, determinedly hanging onto its leaves.
"Yeah. What does it look like?" She wrapped her hand around his and held it tightly.
“It’s an orb with what seems like a gust of wind. Kinda dusty… ironic…” M glanced around and started walking. “I felt it’s power source here… but I don’t know where it is…”
He glanced up, down, right, left, nigh, through and under, but couldn’t find it. Until… he looked… up… (Me: scrambling for my notes. “Shit shit shit I did it wrong!)
“Ah, there it is.” He pointed up at the sky, where an orb the size of a fist hung directly over head and in place, though vibrating gently.
She followed his gaze up to the orb. "How do we get it?"
M frowned. “Maybe we could try and coax it down here?” As he suggested it, it drifted higher up into the air.
"How? It's an orb."
“It’s kind of obvious it’s self-aware, North. It’s a piece of someone’s magic, after all.”
"Someone, does not seem to be amused easily." She said, staring up at the orb.
A particularly fierce gust of wind blew North off of her feet.
M laughed and said, “Careful what you say!
North glared up at him and the orb from the ground. "I'll consider it."
(um)
(Sorry we got food)
M laughed again and helped her up. “Well, this is finicky, but we’ll work it out.”
No, you won’t. You need someone who can fly to get that orb.
Oh thanks for chiming in Zackary. I forgot you were here.
Thanks, yeah, the whole universe is falling apart because of me and you totally forget about me.
Yes, yes I did. How do you think we should get it down then?
I just told you. Get someone who can fly to coax it down.
