(ikr my heart cannot even)
Alistair smiled softly as Chase's tears faded and his breathing steadied.
"Are you comfortable with me putting on the ointment, or would you rather do it?" he asked gently, picking up the tube of ointment that he had gotten out.
“C-Can you?” Chase didn’t even want to look down at himself, and it would probably hurt to try and reach his back. He focused on Alistair’s eyes instead.
(While Alexa is here crushing on someone that no one knows about except Alexa. Reading the scene and crying because she is just a smol bean that needs more love in her life.)
(Poor Alexa ;n; Evryone deserves romance, especially the smol beans)
Alistair nodded and got the ointment, gently applying it to all of the bruises on Chase's torso. He was as careful as possible, afraid of applying too much pressure and hurting him. It made Alistair sad and angry to see all of the splotchy bruises covering him. When he finished, he wrapped bandages around Chase and pinned them with medical tape.
"Alrighty, all wrapped up," he said taking Chase's hand with a soft smile. "You ready to go upstairs? The spare bedroom is there, and I have some clothes you can borrow."
Chase nodded, gingerly getting of the stool and standing. Alistair had been so careful not to hurt him… It made Chase’s stomach flutter but he shoved it down as he followed Alistair to the spare bedroom. He couldn’t help but glanced at their hands intertwined, “Thank you so much, again, Alistair.”
When they got to the spare bedroom, Alistair squeezed his hand before gesturing for Chase to sit on the queen-sized bed. He went over to the dresser and rummaged around in a drawer. A couple of seconds later, he pulled out a pair of sweatpants and an over-sized, super-soft sweatshirt.
"Here, sorry if they're a bit big," he said, handing them to Chase. "I'll go in the hallway while you change pants, then we can hang out and watch Netflix or something, does that sound okay?"
“Yeah, that sounds good. No, it sounds great,” Chase have an appreciative smile. Once he was alone, he change out of his clothes. The sweatshirt was softer than anything, and Chase gladly slipped his arms into it’s too long sleeves. The sweatpants were nice too, and Chase only realized after he changed how bad his clothes had smelt from being in the dumpster. Chase picked up his clothes and opened the door to see Alistair, “Where should I put these?” He gestured to his dirty clothes.
"I'll take them to the laundry room," Alistair replied, taking the dirty clothes from him. "You go ahead and settle in, I'll also get my laptop, and we can watch a movie."
After running downstairs and putting the clothes away, he grabbed his laptop and started to head back upstairs.
"Hey, cuz," Kelsey, popped her head out of her office. "Do your aunt and uncle know you're here?"
"No," Alistair said, realizing his great mistake.
Kelsey waved her hand, "Don't worry 'bout it. I call them and say I needed your help cleaning or fixing something." She went back to her office, and Alistair resumed his journey back upstairs. When in the guest bedroom once more, he settled down in the bed right next to Chase and opened his laptop.
"So, any requests?" He asked, looking over at Chase, whose face was only inches from his own.
“You decide,” Chase replied, subtly scooting closer to Alistair. It was far enough away from him that one could blame it on being Chase just wanted to see the screen better, but close enough that he felt Alistair’s soothing warmth.
Alistair hummed as he scrolled through Netflix. "How about Beauty and the Beast?" he asked.
“That sounds nice,” Chase replied, a fond smile appearing on his face. He loved beauty and the beast. He rested his head back on the pillows and relaxed, the softness of the sweatshirt comforting. About halfway through the movie Chase’s head slid down to lay on Alistair’s shoulder.
A faint blush appeared on Alistair's cheeks, and he smiled, letting his head rest against Chase's. Near the end of the movie, in the part where the Beast is dying, he began to cry. He knew what happened, but he couldn't help it, that scene just got to him.
Chase felt drip onto his head and positioned himself to look up and wipe the tears off of Alistair’s face this time. He was about to open his mouth and say something, but as soon as he processed what he was going to say he clamped up. I love you. He turned a furious shade of red, but kept on wiping away Alistair’s tears.
Alistair smiled at Chase. "Thanks," he whispered with a sniffle. "This part always gets to me."
As they settled back in, Alistair carefully wrapped an arm around Chase's waist. His eyes started to droop and his head rested back on Chase's head.
"Tale as old as time… True as it can be… Barely even friends… Then somebody bends… Unexpectedly…" he sang softly as the movie ended.
Chase leaned back against Alistair and started snuggling. He was so warm, and the sweatshirt was so soft, and the music he sang was so relaxing… It was no wonder when Chase’s eyes drooped closed into a deep sleep just as the movie finished.
Alistair looked over at Chase's sleeping face and smiled. He carefully set his laptop to the side and pulled up the blanket. Wrapping an arm around Chase's waist, he gently kissed his forehead and settled down by him, slowly drifting into a peaceful sleep.
I'm so glad I met you, Chase…
Chase woke up later, yet he didn’t open his eyes immediately, instead stretching his arms around the heat source next to him. It took him a few minutes to finally open his eyes, and when he did he realized it was Alistair. What Chase should have done was get out of bed and call his parents then tell them where he was. However, Chase was selfish so he just closed his eyes and laid his head on top of Alistair’s shoulder. Just a few more minutes…
(Did I just hallucinate and imagine that or r u editing? Lol)
As Alistair slowly woke up, he blinked his eyes sleepily. Turning his head to face Chase, he smiled happily.
"Hey, sleepyhead," he said softly, "I know you're awake, I felt you move." He reached over and poked his nose.
“Hey,” Chase said, his eyes slowly opening to look at Alistair, “You’re really warm and snuggly,” He said without thinking, scooting closer to Alistair. Those words he’d almost said before he’d fallen alseep entered his mind. I love you. But he couldn’t possibly say it out loud, so instead he asked tiredly, “What time is it?”
"Thanks," Alistair chuckled into Chase's hair. "How are you feeling?"
He shifted so that he could see Chase's face better, a soft smile on his face.
“A lot better. That salve really helped,” Chase replied, looking at Alistair through his lashes. He felt so safe, just laying there with Alistair but… “My parents are probably wondering were I am…” He mumbled sadly. Chase didn’t want to leave. It felt like a nice pastel pink, just being there.
"Welllll," Alistair considered, as he somehow snuggled even closer to Chase. "I'm sure Kelsey wouldn't mind if we stayed… You could call your parents and ask to have a sleepover?"
Chase tried to not get to excited, “That sounds amazing,” And though Chase didn’t want to get up, he stood and called his parents.
“Where are you? I know you told us about staying after school, but you’ve been gone a long time, Chase.”
“I know, sorry Dad, we watch a movie and-“ Chase began sheepishly.
“Chase, you should have called us sooner.”
“I’m sorry. I really am Dad. I promise I’ll call you sooner next time. I wanted to ask if I could spend the night and Alistair’s house? Please?” Chase asked hopefully, and he heard his father sigh.
“Okay, do you want me to bring your stuff over?”
Chase looked at Alistair questioningly, “My dad asked if he should drop my stuff off…?”
"Sure," Alistair replied with a smile. "Kelsey's address is (~ADDRESS~). Also, she works the evening shift at the hospital, so she'll be leaving in an hour or so." He got up and stretched, his shirt riding up a bit.
Chase told his dad and hung up the phone, and he sneaked a glance at Alistair as he stretched. Chase blushed and turned away for a second, holding in a smile. Chase went back and sat on the edge of the bed, “May dad said he’ll be here in a half hour or so, what should we do until then?”
