First off, sure he came back for his wife and kids, but he shouldn't have left them in the first place.
The music was too autotune to be called a musical. Musicals are supposed to have the rawness and beauty of a natural voice.
P.T. Barnum was a man who used "freaks" for entertainment, exploiting them and using them as a comedy or spectacle. He abused animals, too. His character, no matter how much the movie white washes him, should not be held in high esteem in any way. His work should be buried in the archives of history for future generations to scowl upon.
They added two characters just for the sake of a cheesy romance story that had nothing to do in advancing the plot. Though I love Zendaya, her role was virtually useless.
An added affair? Is that what we wanna show kids now? A man abandons his family and hooks up with another woman even though it didn't actually happen irl.
The overall message 'You can do anything no matter who people think you are' is overshadowed by the truth of the matter. P.T. Barnum thought no such thing.

I don't know maybe I just don't like the way it was done but in my mind and morals, The Greatest Showman is something of a scandal.

we're not trying to crush your dreams love
but like
if you're looking for role models you can find better ones elsewhere
by all means keep listening to the soundtrack and having that help you (again, This is Me is on my pride playlist and also my SOS playlist, I have nothing against the message of the song)
but we just disagree on your opinion that it was the greatest movie because it really wasn't and there's other movies with better representation
