(yeee)
A man of ginormous stature rose from the cave mouth, his shadow thrown onto the cave wall from the licking flames of the forge. He bowed over her, his huge, all-seeing black eyes glistening eerily in the half-light.
"YOU!" He repeated in a bellow that echoed through the cave. "What are you doing here?"
Yikes. Okay, what to do? Elise searched her surroundings and saw a small opening that Hephaestus couldn't possibly fit through. She ran, scrambling in, pulling her things in behind her. How am I going to get out of here?
Hephaestus stepped forward and plucked her up by the back of her shirt. "Oh no, you don't. The mighty hell are you doing here?" He asked in a deep, rumbly voice.
(YEEE youre on)
Elise squirmed in his huge grip and flailed around. "ARTEMIS!" She yelled, then thought.
The locket!
She still had it around her neck!
Hephaestus staring at her, befuddled, she opened the locket and whispered into it.
"Havenwood, get the fuck into Hephaestus' cavern. Now."
(You're gonna have to play two characters at once, sorry. Also i have to die, taking my dogs for a walk. :()
(;u;)
Hephaestus rolled his eyes and gently sat her down. "I'm not going to hurt you, you know. Just because I'm a big-bad-scary blacksmith doesn't mean I'll steal your bones and mold them into a hilt for a sword."
Havenwood burst into the cave, panting and holding a rabbit upside down, along with Elise's gun.
(remember she's still hanging from hep's finger so it'll look like he was about to hurt her.)
"ACK! You're gonna choke me if you keep holding me up like that! And I want my stuff back!" She protested, still unaware of Havenwood's presence and squirming in Hep's grip.
(oooopsieesss )
"I WANT MY STUFF BACK!" Elise yelled in his face.
(Can hep be more violent with her just a little because havenwood has to like have a reason to rescue her)
Hep put a large, scarred hand on her face and thrust her away from his face. She fell backward, and the metal that was just melted in her bowl leaked out onto the floor, then started promptly boiling.
"Hey!" Havenwood sharply exclaimed and strode over. "Only I'm allowed to do that to her!"
Elise looked up and saw Havenwood, relieved. She gathered her things and picked up the unassembled butt of the gun and pointed at Hep's large, burly form - even though he could probably snap it if he wanted to.
(Don't please that'd be heartbreaking)
(xD i kinda want to)
Hep glared at her as if challenging her to try and shoot a God. Havenwood glanced over and stepped in between the pair.
"Hep, go," Havenwood growled.
"She was here on her own accord. Mortals aren't allowed here."
"I am allowed. Here. Boss - I mean Zeus - said so. Go ask him!" Elise yelled - quite frightened.
Hep grumbled something. His voice was quiet, yet it sounded scary and threatening.
Havenwood responded loudly, in a different language, one Elise would only be able to conclude was Greek.
Elise took advantage of the fact that Hep was no longer focused on her and gathered her things, edging ever closer to Havenwood - with whom she felt safe.
Hep stepped closer to Havenwood as if trying to size him up, but Havenwood didn't step back.
Meanwhile, Elise was contemplating whether or not she should shove Hep into one of his own pits of lava - assuming that she was strong enough to do so, which she definitely was not.
Hep growled again in Greek, Havenwood didn't respond.
Okay, this is awkward…why again did I choose Latin over Greek in high school? Elise thought, curling up at Havenwood's feet, throwing her hoodie over her.
Hep suddenly threw a hand out at Havenwood, who dodged it smoothly, by moving over to the left.
"Hey, hey. Havenwood…" She tugged on his pant leg. "Perhaps we should just leave."
Havenwood nodded. "Good idea. She won't come back again, Hep."
"She'd better not."
Elise got up with her things in her arms, leading the fucking way out of that cave.
Once they were out of the cave, past Athena (I think it was), and farther into Havenwood's forest, Havenwood jolted out an arm and turned Elise around.
"What the hell were you doing down there, Elise? You could've gotten yourself killed!" He looked upset and deeply worried.
"Look, I'm…it was for a weapon, okay? And I needed someplace to melt the metal. So…I went there. I'm so sorry. I screwed everything up. I'm sorry." Elise buried her face in Havenwood's arms, even though she wasn't crying. She was ashamed.
"Why did you need to make another weapon?" He didn't pull away from her, yet his voice wasn't any softer. She'd given him a real shock.
"Because that's why I'm here, idiot." Her muffled voice responded. "I fucked up, didn't I? I did."
"No, we can get you some other way for you to make weapons. It's okay," He heard his voice soften, he was now glad that she was safe.
"I don't really think it is, but okay." Elise pulled away and looked up at Havenwood.
