@rot-baby-rot!
"Well that's no way to get us to stop being curious," August said, scooting closer. "So what's their name? Or names."
"Well that's no way to get us to stop being curious," August said, scooting closer. "So what's their name? Or names."
Riverpaw drew her shoulders up, trying to hid her face, but she couldn't help but grin a little. "S-stop it, it's…nothing. Seriously."
"Ooh, so there is someone." August said smirking. "From the way you're grinning it doesn't seem like it's nothing."
“Oooooo, tell us,” Rigel leaned over as if it was some big secret. He felt like he was at one of those cliche movie girl sleep overs and he nearly burst out laughing again as he waited eagerly for Riverpaw to spill the beans.
Riverpaw groaned under breath, glaring at both of them. She took a shaky deep breath, and looked her phone. "Eleena and Molly. That's their names, but th-that's all you're getting right now."
"Aw, and you like them?" August teased.
“Too cute!” Rigel said with a feminine voice and then laughed again.
Riverpaw sighed, but giggled at Rigel's voice. "W-we just group-hugged and shared a touching moment with the group, and this is how you treat me? How dare." She shook her head again, then mumbled, "B-but..yeah…I-I like them.."
"Look, we didn't group hug, we bonded. We had a bonding moment. We cradled each other in our arms. And you already teased me, so this is just payback." August said, finishing his water. "But more importantly, do they like you back?"
“Awww!” Rigel laughed some more. He remembered his last crush and how he had acted just like Riv, “I’m sure you’ll end up with one of them.”
(That moment when you slip in a Voltron reference and no one notices)
(I saw that Voltron reference >u>)
Riverpaw sighed, suddenly a little less cheery about this. "No. I-I don't think so." She mumbled. "I mean, w-we've hung out before, and they're really great, and n-nice to me, but…they're kinda..a-already dating each other…"
(The one thing about Voltron is that the fandom is really toxic at the moment because of season seven)
August nudged her with his elbow. "Hey, they could be polyamorous, you never know."
Riverpaw sighed, suddenly a little less cheery about this. "No. I-I don't so." She mumbled. "I mean, w-we've hung out before, and they're really great, and n-nice to me, but…they're kinda..a-already dating each other…"
“What? That’s crappy,” Rigel huffed in disappointment, “But I think you could still end up with one of them.”
(yep, and I haven't even gotten the chance to watch the whole season yet)
Riverpaw gave August a strange look. "Pola-what now?"
(I actually think it was really good and the imagery and plot was amazing, but I am kind of upset about Adam and Shiro's story line, and what they do with Axca.)
"Polyamorous." August said. "It's like when you're in multiple relationships, but it's not cheating. So you can like Molly and Eleena and be dating both of them, and they can be dating other people, but none of you would be cheating on each other because you're not hiding it from each other and you all accept your partner's relationships."
“I had a relationship like that,” Rigel added. Although he had tons of bad experience with it, he kept quiet for Riverpaw’s sake.
(Idk if I explained it correctly but here's the Urban Dictionary definition for Polyamorous which is actually pretty good:
"Means "Many Loves". It means having multiple committed relationships with people you are mutually in love with, and everyone wants it to be that way.
This is not to be confused with swinging or multiple relationships, where you are sleeping with the other people or they are friends with bennies, whom you love. That is called non-monogamy, and to say it is polyamory is a lie.
"I told Brad I'm in love with him, and my husband Rick is very happy for us."
"That's cheating!"
"No, we're polyamorous. You can only cheat on rules that exist. We don't have an agreement to be exclusive. But an example of me cheating would be to not tell Rick that I'm in love, because the rule of honesty is right up there with the rule that the primary relationship comes first"
"I could never do that. I'm too jealous"
"Then don't."
"Are you sleeping with both these guys?"
"Now that I'm in love with both of them, yes. But you don't have to be having sex to be polyamorous, because what it means is that you are mutually in love with more than one person at a time. Most people do sleep with those they love, but sex is not what makes you poly"")
(Ah, thanks Urban Dictionary. Also, I dunno, I kinda like Axca. I think Zethrid and Ezor surprised me more)
Riverpaw furrowed her brow, trying to understand. "But….oohh. OH." She looked at August with wide eyes, sitting up and bouncing on her feet a little. "Sky mentioned something about them being…that." She flushed and sat back down, pulling her shoulders up again. "B-but that doesn't mean they like me. Not that I'd know, but, I-I just..don't think I'm their 'type'? I guess? I-I dunno.."
(It's not that I don't like her, it's that I don't like that they set her up for a possible romance with Keith. A lot of the fandom thought that they were siblings, and it would just be weird if they were a couple. Not to mention that she and Keith have interacted only once or twice before s7 and I'm pretty sure they tried to kill each other those times)
"Well, you never know. We could send in some other fifteen year old to do our dirty work and ask if they like you." August suggested.
(true, true)
Riverpaw gasped quietly, her face heating up, and she slapped August's arm before hiding her face in her own. "Oh, Stars, p-please don't do that."
"No promises. I know a couple kids that owe me favors…" August said, thinking. "I'm pretty sure they go to school with you, too."
“Isn’t that a bad idea?” Aspen laughed
Riverpaw huffed, shrugging slightly. "I-I don't even know what constitutes as a 'bad idea' to these guys anymore."
"Very little, at this point." August said, he stood up to refill his cup with water.
“My whole life is a bad idea,” Rigel gave a toothy grin, “I want to meet these two before you make anything official though.”
Riverpaw threw her arms up and her head back onto the couch cushion. "Who said anything about making anything official!?"
“It will happen in time,” Rigel said in an accent that he hoped sounded like some shaman.
"And if it doesn't we'll make it happen." August added.
Riverpaw gaped at him, wondering what he meant by that. She could take a pretty good guess thought. "Please don't do anything to them." She said a little more worriedly than she intended.
