Zander's brow creased in worry, and he summoned his inner Dani." No more deterring me from taking you to the doctor. You are going now even if I have to carry you." He said both softly and firmly.
"I think you'll have to." Dani gasped. White hot pain shot through her side.
Zander tried to pick her up as gently as possible but still saw her wince, and carried her out of the room, out of the flat and into the hall. He started his way down the winding path looked down at her."Okay, what's wrong with your side? Is it your ribs or your stomach?" Zander said, feeling panic edge into his voice and picked up the pace.
"I don't……..know." Dani kept her breaths steady.
"Okay, just don't concentrate on it then." Zander said as they approached the medical wing.
Zander walked into the medical wing and flagged down a nurse who made him set Dani on a bed.
Dani laid her head back on the pillow. "Why does this always happen?" She asked to no on in particular.
Zander stayed by Dani until a doctor came by. "Hey so what are you guys going to do first Dr…" "Oh Yeah, I'm Dr. Ink-Ompetent,(pronounced 'incompetent') and first we're going to get an x-ray and an ultrasound."
"I thought ultrasounds were for pregnant people?" Zander questioned.
"It's also to see inside the body to help tell if somethings…" Dr. Ink-Ompetent thought for a moment." All jacked up." he finally concluded, checking his watch.
Dani raised her eyebrows. "All jacked up?" She asked weakly, still managing to hold a little sarcasm in her voice.
"Well I could have gone into a more in-depth description, but this poor boy looks like he is struggling to keep up." He said jokingly, while motioning to Zander who was in fact struggling to follow along.Then a nurse came up and whispered to him."Ah yes, it seems the x-ray machine has opened up, so we should head there now. You help me to move her bed, we're short handed because a bunch of teenagers are taking up all of our doctors. I tell you, ones so full of bullet holes in his wings he could take a second job as swiss cheese, ones bleeding purple, and I don't even know what's wrong with the third one yet." He said as he and Zander pushed the bed down the halls." I think they think I'm a miracle worker, I tell you."
"Wait what happened to Blake?" Dani struggled to sit up as her bed was moved down the halls.
"OH so you know the swiss cheese boy." Dr. Ink-Ompetent said as they pulled up to a room."It seems he decided to take on an entire RAC compound to free a dragon for the purple blood boy who talks about cheeseburgers." Zander smacked his forehead. Of course he did, now the RAC knows he's not dead. OHH NO NOW THE RAC IS GOING TO CHECK ALL MY CASES!
(Imma head to bed g'nite)

Blake woke up, aching pains shooting through his body. He groaned and ran a hand through his hair. "Hey, Blake." His eyes fluttered open to see Frankie again. Blake quickly pushed himself into a sitting position, gritting his teeth and wincing in pain. "Take it easy." Frankie soothed, running her hands over his soft feathers. Blake couldn't remember preening them, so Frankie must've done it while he was asleep.
"I'm starving." His stomach let out a loud growl right afterwards. He shot Frankie a shy smile.
"I'll get you something to eat." Frankie kissed him and the cheek and left the room, leaving Blake to wake up.
