Copeland smiled gently at Owen, then removed his arm from Dev's shoulders. He could feel his stomach churning.
"Has anyone checked the fuse box?" Dev asked. "Orrr…." She let her sentence trail off to give someone a chance to answer.
Copeland smiled gently at Owen, then removed his arm from Dev's shoulders. He could feel his stomach churning.
"Has anyone checked the fuse box?" Dev asked. "Orrr…." She let her sentence trail off to give someone a chance to answer.
"I-I am unsure of that…." he replied looking down to the floor.
"Okay, well, it's probably in the back somewhere. I'll check it." Dev wandered off on her own, glancing behind her for a moment.
(WHO WANTS TO SHIP MY LITTLE BOI?)
"O-ok…"
Dev ventured toward the back of the library, searching for a fuse box and leaving Copeland with the others. He tucked his hands into his pockets and leaned his back against a bookshelf, thinking of what to do.
Owen sat down on the floor again and closed his eyes.
Dev turned on her phone to use its flashlight feature. She began jiggling doorknobs and peering into locked, shadowed rooms for any source of hope that she might get out of there.
Violet turned to the others who didn't go looking for the fuse box. "So it looks like were stuck here for a while, what do you guys want to do? I mean like theres no light to read or anything, at least for now."
"W-well I think almost all of us have our phones, but we should save the battery. We-we could..talk?" Otis said quietly.
"What would we talk about?" She asked, leaning against the wall.
Otis shrugged, regretting that he had brought it up. He was hoping that they would just have a conversation and he could just chill by himself.
"How are your guys love lifes?" Violet asked mostly joking.
"I don't even have a love life." She said with a slight laugh.
Otis giggled. He sat at a nearby table, silently listening.
"Does anyone here have a love life?" She asked, slightly laughing.
"Nope, I don't have a life in general." he replied
"Why?"
"Not very social, I am kind of not the one people usually make friends with……"
"I used to be like that too."
"Well now you guys have friends and lives. This is going to make a good story some day. That is if we get out…"
"And if we make it out in one piece."
"yeah, um please don't say those things I am kind of afraid of the dark as is."
"Okay then."
Otis bit his lip. What if we don't get out?
"Well probably get out, worst case we spend the night till they open the library the next day."
Chicago stood up. Geez. She had stood on a table to see who else was in the library with her, and she must have fallen down.
"Hello?" she screamed, hysterical. Did I really just knock myself out?
(Realistically, it's been a busy weekend. Trying to think of valid excuses for why I was absent got me like
…
…
…
…
She fell off a table and passed out)
“Hey,” Violet shouted. “Make your way to the exit.”
Otis shivered. What if that person's like, a vandal or something?
He cautiously walked over and checked it out. "Oh my gosh! She fainted!" He said when he found Chicago.
"For the love of God, I'm fine."
Copeland perked up a bit as Dev returned from the back. "No luck," she said, sighing as she sat on the floor. "What are we talking about?" Considering how suspicious the power outage and locked doors were, she thought she should take a moment to study those around her while getting to know them.
Copeland simply waited. His anxiety was seriously kicking in, but he refused to have an attack. It was too early, anyway. Why would he freak out just yet when he doesn't even have the details of the incident? Maybe there is nothing sinister about it. Convincing himself of this, heopened up his book and delved into the story.
