Soon, they arrived at the zoo and Zackary paid for tickets.
"Where do you wanna go first?" Zackary asked Jace as he hoisted him up on his shoulders.
"The Snake House!"

Seth walks beside them, smiling. He grew curious about the creatures around him. He wasn't familiar with the animals.

Zackary led them to a path with snakes painted on it, forming an arrow. "Seth, it's kinda warm in there, so you might have to take off your sweater."
"Snakes love the heat!" Jace said knowledgeably.

Seth laughs, "Yes, and so do demons." he tickles Jace's sides.

Jace giggled and hugged Zackary's head, who was laughing gently at the joke.

Seth smiles softly and returns to Zackarys side, humming as he inspect the reptiles.

Jace looked around and whooooaaaaaed at a ball python, who was inching up a display branch.

Seth chuckles a little, inspecting the python as well. "Magnificent…" he mutters.

Zackary looked at his son. "So you still want a snake for your birthday?"
"Yeaahhh!!!"

Seth chuckles softly, "A snake as a pet, how interesting." he says, humming.

Zackary laughed and it echoed around in the empty hallway. "He's always loved snakes."

"I think they are very interesting looking." Seth says, gazing at the elegant creatures.

Jace giggled and stretched for the snake. "I want a garden snake. They're so pretty."
"It's a garter snake, love," Zackary corrected gently.

Seth smiles, "It is very pretty isn't it?"

Jace nodded. "I've seen pictures."
"Yeah, this one's a ball python."

Seth hums as he continues to inspect the snakes.

Jace occasionally said the name of a snake, otherwise, it was silent in the hall. Too silent.

Seth was starting to get on edge, his eyes flicking around.

Zackary looked uncomfortable too. "Is there anyone here?" He whispered to Seth, his grip tightening on Jace.

"I dunno, but be alert." He whispers back, his eyes narrowing.

Zackary nodded. "Shall we continue walking?"

"Yeah. Make it seem like we don't notice yet." He mutters, before smiling and pointing out another snake. "What's this one called?" he asks curiously, but he was still on high alert.

Zackary glanced at it. Jace answered, "It's an anaconda!"

My anaconda don't… Sorry, I'll stop now XD//

Seth chuckles a little, but if you're really paying attention it sounds a little forced.

(I knew you'd do that xD)

Zackary grinned a little. "Good job."
Jace giggled. "Thank you!"

I'm back, watching star wars with my dad and sure//

Seth smiles and nods, watching the interactions happily. But he was very on edge.

Zackary walked slowly down to the next tank, ready to duck.

Seth prepared his hand to summon his scythe. His eyes flick around the area, sensing someone was there.

Zackary felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise and took Jace down off of his shoulders. "I'm going to take Jace to the bathroom." His voice suggested he did not want Jace to see the fight.
