You won't be wasting money since he wants to get it for you.
So just tell him what you want, or you could tell him something expensive you want, and then something less expensive.
That way he has options.

I had a nightmare last night
Two actually, don't judge me they're stupid
But one of them school had started
And the school turned into a war zone and everyone was trying to kill me bc they hated me
The ones who weren't trying to kill me threw a noose at me, 'crazy pills' and a straight jacket
But then I woke up, and when I fell back asleep I had another nightmare
And my mom wanted to put me down. Like a dog
So they gave me a medicine that made it so I couldn't scream
So the whole time it was then trying to catch me so they could kill me and the whole time I was whisper screaming 'I don't want to die!' Bc I couldn't scream
