(I'm internally squealing because my mom and sister are here, so that would weird if I just started squealing out loud… They'd think I'm crazy…)

When they broke away, Kenzie's heart felt like it was going to explode. She'd never felt this way before. Not for anyone.

Hunter studied her, tracing her face with his fingers. He put his head in the crook of her neck, and Kenzie sighed in ecstasy. She rested her own head on his shoulder, catching her breath.

Both of them sat in silence, holding each other. In the background, Mario Cart’s theme music was playing, but Hunter could barely hear it. There was only one thing in his mind; Kenzie.
“So,” he breathed out. “What now?”

(I look like a cowgirl. No joke. I've got the hat for it, too.)

"I don't know," Kenzie murmured into Hunter's hair. She pulled away gently and studied his face again.

(😂😂😂 what’s so bad about a cowgirl! My little brother gas a cowboy hat, too 🤣🤣)

You could be my girlfriend, Hunter murmured as she studied his face again. He didn’t know where that came from, but the idea of Kenzie as his girlfriend brought him warmth. But when she didn’t respond or gave a sign that she heard him, he realized he had only said it in his head.

You could ask me on a real date, Kenzie's cheeks reddened at the thought.

“I have an idea,” Hunter murmured, his thumb running circles around her soft cheeks. “Come on a date with me. No one to interrupt us. It’ll be just you and me.”

(Aahhhhhhh!!!!!)

Kenzie nodded and muttered, "Yeah, I'd like that."

(Okay, now I've really got to go for about two hours, but I should be back as soon as I'm finished!) 😭

Hunter pulled her off his lap and onto the couch, but wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her close into his side. He ran his fingers through her soft hair before resting his head on hers.

(So… Time-wise, it's probably about noon for them, so I'm sorry about this!)

Kenzie rested her head on Hunter's shoulder. As she breathed in, she caught the scent of pine and mint, an interesting but intoxicating mix.

Then her stomach rumbled, and Kenzie cringed and sat up. "Sorry," she apologized quietly. "I guess I'm a little hungry…"

(You’re back! I just came back from changing my brother’s diaper. I’m exhausted omg)

Hunter smirked at the sound.
“I’ll whip up something for us,” he said as he got up. “I may not look like it, but I’m an awesome chef.”

(Oh, fun.)

Kenzie followed Hunter into the kitchen, where he started pulling ingredients off the shelves.

"Let me help you," she volunteered, giving him a quick smile. "As you must have noticed earlier, I'm a pretty fantastic cook myself."

Hunter shook his head.
“No way, you go browse the TV or something,” he said. “You made the pancakes for me. I’ll make something for you in return.”
