Caroline stumbled after Natalie, sobbing uncontrollably, apologizing to the air in front of her as Briar was carried away on the stretcher.

“Mmm…I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory.. is this where it gets me? Will I finally be with my..mom?” Briar moaned, coughing up blood. The pain was throbbing all throughout her body.

(…on my feet several feet ahead of me?)

Natalie hugged Caroline tightly as Briar was pulled into emergency surgery.

Briar was now spouting “nonsense” at this point.
“I’m running out of time..I’m running out of time..teach my dad how to say goodbye..”

Caroline cried into Natalie's shoulder. "I scared her… I scared her and she fell…"

Emilia dropped the package off at reception, telling the lady who it was for. She nodded, understanding the situation.
"I'll give it to the family when they come back."
Emilia smiled and left reception. She didn't know where she was going, for now she planned to just wander around until she had something to do.

Natalie hugged Caroline tighter. "She'll be okay. She'll be okay. She'll be okay." But all the same, tears fell down her face too. God, please don't take two people from us today. She prayed.

“Where’s my daughter!” Briar’s father came rushing out into the hall, his eyes blazing.
“Pa..” Briar moaned.
“I did exactly as you said Pa..”

Natalie looked at Briar's father. "She's in surgery right now." Caroline was sobbing into her shoulder. "They're doing the best they can."

“If she dies, I willl never forgive myself..” Briar’s father leaned up against a wall amd closed his eyes , mumbling a prayer

(All I know about Hamilton is that he dies. Briar CAN'T DIE!!!!! Pls!)

Briar’s boyfriend(?) came running down the hall, his blue eyes wide with terror. He stopped beside Briar’s father and put a sympathetic, but tentative hand to his shoulder.
“Is she alright? She isn’t dead, is she? How did this happen?”

Natalie looked at the boy. "She'll survive." She said softly. "She was trying to save a stupid kid from falling off a ledge and fell herself." She let go of Caroline. "Stay here, okay? Or go back to the others. Either way, I'm going to go help with the surgery. My brother fell like that a few years back, and he survived." She reassured them. "I'll let you know when she's out of surgery."

( sobs I held my head up high…)

Caroline nodded and let Natalie follow the procession heading to the ER. She hovered in the room, tears still streaming down her face, chest heaving. She felt completely lost.
