(Lol. I'm on an iPod touch, so…)
Brooke heard footsteps behind her, and she turned around. Seeing Riseley, she sighed and crossed her arms.
"Is there something you need?"
(Lol. I'm on an iPod touch, so…)
Brooke heard footsteps behind her, and she turned around. Seeing Riseley, she sighed and crossed her arms.
"Is there something you need?"
(A lot. Um just hop in wherever. Be apart if the crew already or something.)
"No," they said, "In fact, I didn't even know you were there."
"Hm. Okay. Well, excuse me. I'm going to see my cat, now," Brooke stated before opening her door and stepping into her room.
"So you did more than just setting the whole place on fire then," they smirked, "What's it called?"
"I had no part in that. I was getting supplies," Brooke explained. "And his name is Onyx."
( Sits there eating popcorn. DOn't mind me.)
(Now that you mentioned popcorn, I probably would mind you)
"My…I had a cat too," they said, softly
Brooke frowned. "Had?"
( THows a piece of popcorn. Continue.)
(Don't tease, you evil human)
"It was a long time ago," they said, "And, you know, cats…die."
"Yeah… They do." Brooke paused for a moment, debating with herself about something. "Wait here for a second."
They raised their eyebrows, "OK."
But just in case, Riseley took out their daggers as Brooke left
Brooke stepped farther into her room and shut the door behind her. She called to Onyx, and the little cat jumped onto her bed and meowed at her.
"Well, hello, handsome," she greeted the cat with a smile. She picked him up, holding him gently in her arms. "Come on. We're going to visit somebody."
Brooke walked back out into the hall. "This is Onyx."
Hastily, Riseley sheathed their daggers as Brooke came out with - thank God - a cat, they had half-feared she would find a snake or tarantula, though they would never tell anyone that they are scared of them
"Put those away," Brooke sighed, shaking her head. "Do you want to see the cat or not?"
"Uh, yes," they replied.
Then, more gently, "Hi." they whispered to the cat
The black cat wriggled slightly in Brooke's arms, then let out a soft mew. Brooke smiled and scratched his head, and he immediately started purring.
"May I?" Riseley gestured
"If he'll let you. Remember, he was in a cage for who-knows-how-long," Brooke reminded them.
Riseley grunted and touched Onyx's soft fur. He did not bite their hand off. Taking that as a good sign, they gently stroked his soft fur
Onyx purred on, his little paws kneading Brooke's arm. She smiled down at the cat. How nice it was to have a furry companion.
"I better go now," Riseley said, "I have…things."
"Sure. Let me know if you ever need a fuzzy friend," Brooke said with a small smile. Her pet had put her in a better mood.
Riseley smiled, a genuine smile this time, and walked up the stairs onto the deck
Brooke brought Onyx back into her room, once again closing the door behind herself.
Riseley watches the clouds drift across the sky, that particular cat definitely deserves a painting. They rarely take out their paint anymore, as paint is hard to get in most of the coastal towns they dock in
River came up to the front of the boat
Cicada sighed once her office was clear. She needed to get in the mind set to isolate a member of her crew. Maybe limited contact would be okay. Like he can talk to others during meals and such.
She went towards Cicadas office “I have a question.”
