"Well… There is a problem with the situation, Xavier. The maids do not attend the ball; I am only going because of my position as main attendant. As you know, I live in the maid's quarters anyway, which are locked at 8:30. The ball starts at 8:00. I wouldn't have anywhere to go afterwards."

(Ruby meanwhile is bed fed lots of chocolate which she didn't ask for but doesn't mind either in the 45th parlor.)

Victoria entered a parlor and saw Ruby there, eating chocolates. "I see you're enjoying yourself." she grinned.

"Oh yes. I simply must have the recipe for my cooks." Ruby grinned as another plate of candy was set before her.

"Tori wouldn't mind." Tori loved him, or at least she thought he did. He was sure that she would do this one simple thing for him. "I really want to see you in a beautiful dress. I'll ask Tori right away." He got down on one knee and took her hand in his. "If she says yes." He looked her in the eye. "Would you Claira, be my date to the ball?"

('Calira'? Disappointing XD)
"What?!?"

(Sorry about that, my phone does whatever it wants sometimes.)

"Why… Yes, Xavier. I will."

"Great." He gently kissed her hand and then stood. "I should be on my way to find Victoria then." He grabbed the book from the table and carried it at his side. "Would you like to walk with me?"

"Sure," Claira couldn't help but blush.

"Well, you might want to save room for the banquet at my coronation." Victoria said, snatching away the plate of candy and popping one into her mouth, grinning triumphantly.

"This makes me wonder what sort of magnificent goodies might be there! Goodness, where are those cooks? I must give them my greatest regards." Ruby lolled her eyes.

"Yes, and also gain more weight." Victoria scolded.

Xavier and Claira walked into the parlor.

Ruby looked up from her chocolates and smiled at the others. "Really, what food do they serve you? The chocolates alone are extravagant."

"Ah, yes. They feed us well," Claira chuckled.

"I'm resisting the urge to steal some your cooks!" Ruby laughed, standing up. "So, how's about that garden stroll?"

"Well…" she looked at Xavier.

"I try not to eat sweets." Xavier admitted. He liked them way to much and would eat them all day if he could. Then if he gained weight? He didn't even want to imagine what Claira would say to him. Tori would probably say something as well. The smell was so tempting though. "Right." He moved out of the way. "Shall we?"

"We would like to go to the ball together," Claira said strongly. "Xavier and I."

Xavier looked at her wide eyed. It was so quick, he thought they would ease into it, and he thought he would be the one asking. How was Tori going to react? He looked at Tori hoping she would say yes.

Claira looked back at Xavier with a 'for-the-love-of-gravy-child-you-were-taking-too-long' look.

They got got in here, how fast did he want her to ask? He gave a look back that said 'You could've warned me a bit.' That's one thing he liked about her though she was straight to the point and wasn't afraid to say what's on her mind. Unlike most people here who hide behind masks and just smile at him.

"Well, how lovely! Xavier seems like a charming young man." Ruby said, making her way to the great doors. "And, Victorie, why get thinner when you could have more dinner?" She was having a ball. "I'll probably end up asking one of those cooks to the ball."

"Vici?" Claira asked.
