"What? I've got to be able to have fun before I'm drowned in responsibilities, hmm?" Savannah gently touched the flower on her head to make sure it was still in its proper place.

“Only if one believes your a commoner can you have fun,” Edwin said, not daring glance at his Captain of Guard, but instead looking at Savannah. It felt like a secret they both shared when they had met outside of their obligations.
"True. These dresses are lovely, but sometimes they're a bit overwhelming, are they not?" Savannah smoothed out her gown. "Sometimes one just likes to blend in; to not have all eyes on them for once."
“Yes,” Edwin said fondly, thinking of the dust that had been on his face earlier and the ratty clothes he had been wearing, “Sometimes you need a bit of dirt under your nails and soot on your face.”
Evanna snorted. "You say that, but if you lived like that every day you'd be thinking differently."
Savannah nodded, looking out at the nobles seated at the large table. "Perhaps we could get out after all this is over… go on a carriage ride tour through the town, perhaps? I find it very relaxing."
“Yes, that sounds nice,” Edwin affirmed, but glanced at Evanna, “I would trade my life with anyone wearing soot and dirt daily. But you’re right, I wouldn’t like it,” Edwin looked out over the nobles as well.
"Mmm… Evanna, do you know how much longer the ceremony will be? It's getting quite stuffy in here."
Evanna grinned. "We could leave right now. Literally nobody would notice. Besides the queen and guards, of course." She said.
"Really? Are you sure? I mean, surely people would notice our absence? We are their future rulers, after all. Everyone was just staring at us earlier."
"Ah yes, but most of them are busy being merry and quite a few too deep in their wine. They're in their own space now."
"Hmm… well, Edwin, if you're up for it…?" Savannah looked over at Edwin, her hands folded neatly in her lap.
Edwin hesistantly glanced at his Captain of Guard, who seemed to be slightly preoccupied with a drunken noble. He nodded with a grin.
"Great!" Savannah glanced around to make sure no one was paying attention before standing, grabbing Edwin's hand as she walked away. She headed towards the back entrance so that they could slip out unnoticed.
Evanna followed behind, feet moving silently.
(Got to get to bed, see you later)
(Later fam)
(Me as well lol. Hopefully see y'all sometime tomorrow ^^)
(Hiya)
Edwin glanced down at their hands intwined as he was pulled along. He hid his grin at the thought of freedom, “I want to get some venison whilst we are out. And I want to finish that tour we started.”
(I just realized I haven't rped on this yet….crap)
"Of course, Edwin." Savannah smiled and got into the carriage she had summoned. It took them next to a beautiful countryside set beside a lake that shone in the evening sun. The sky was golden red at this point and the sun was slowly sinking. After the ride, Savannah continued their tour from earlier. "This is the marketplace. You can find nearly everything that you could ever need here."
“It is well organized and looks functional,” Edwin couldn’t stop himself from the logical comment, but then added, “All bias aside, do you think the produce is good?”
(I have an idea so imma go for it lol)
"Definitely." Savannah nodded. Night had almost fallen by this point. "The fruit is fresh and in season, and game is substantial this time of year. The for- ah!" Pain shot through Savannah's leg and she collapsed, gasping for breath. Blood began to soak through her gown, and she looked around fearfully. She had been shot, probably not in any vital areas to send a message.
Evanna let out a yelp, yelling to stop the carriage. She jumped out, looking around furiously. She saw a figure running the opposite direction, and made to go after them, yet stopping to check on the princess.
Savannah was fairly sure that the bullet had gone all the way through her leg, but either way, she couldn't move. She clutched her leg, looking between Evanna and the shadowed figure. Perhaps they had only missed because it was dark? Or maybe she was right in thinking they meant to send a message and not kill her this time. She wasn't safe.
(I drew Savannah in the dress: https://docs.google.com/document/d/158OqIE-3W16fHO3H30PDwGXkgH3QUa0aWuRtutadWuo/edit?usp=sharing I was too lazy to add shading and actually draw a proper tiara or anything, but whatever…)
(Ooh pretty!)
"Goddamn.." Evanna muttered. She picked Savannah up and layed her cloak on the ground, settling her in it. "Alright. I could take it out, or we could risk it and take you back to the castle. What do you want?" She asked Savannah.

(That's really nice)
"Just.. j-just take me to the castle. I think it went through anyways, and… people are staring." Savannah looked around at the crowd of people that was gathering.
