Evanna grinned. "Now, don't you look nice, Princess!" she sighed. "Could you help me do something with my hair, the order of guard demanded that I look nice. But I'm not wearing a dress!"

(hii, I would like to jump in but I dunno what to do :T)
(idk she could sneak into the castle maybe?)
(oh wow I want that dress)
(He’s now wearing something like this:)
Edwin begrudgingly got changed and got into a carriage with three of his most trusted guards. Edwin sighed and leaned his head against the carriage wall. He didn’t want to be betrothed in any way, but there were economic benefits. It’s not like expected anything else. Edwin tried to recall what the princess looked like from his studies of the country, but the image eluded him.
(Came up with it on the fly lol)
"Of course, Evanna." Savannah smiled softly. She had on elbow high white gloves over her nimble, delicate hands. After considering for a moment what to do with Evanna's hair, she began to weave large braids and pin them to the side. She put the rest of Evanna's hair up in a low, neat bun.
(I literally just got mine off of Pinterest lol)
Of course, Edwin was meeting his future wife so he tried brushing the dust off his face, “How do I look? Answer truthfully.” He asked no one in particular.
His captain of guard answered, “My prince, you have some -er- dust on your cheek.”
Edwin furiously wiped it off with his sleeve, “Is it gone now?” Edwin realized a moment too late at how un-princely he sounded. He carefully swiped at his sleeve, the dust falling to the ground. The carriage came to a halt and the door was opened to let in the harsh sunlight. Prince Edwin stepped out, a hand on his forehead to shield his eyes from the sun.
Evanna thanked Savannah, then lead her to the throne room. She stood next to Savannah, waiting for her to sit.
Prince Edwin walked out, escorted by his guards. The nobles looked with greedy eyes to see their future king, to see if they could get favors out of him. Edwin molded his face to be strong and hard as he walked into the throne room to meet his betrothed. He struggled to keep his jaw from dropping when he saw her.
Savannah sat down in the throne that was set beside her mother's. She knew that with the lack of a king, she and her betrothed would likely become the king and queen fairly soon after being married. She spotted Edwin walk in and froze in shock. "Oh my god… Evanna, is that Edwin?"
Evanna's face blanked when she saw Edwin. "Son of a.." She turned to Savannah. "Welp, look at that." She laughed. "You two will have very pretty children," she joked.
Edwin forced himself to keep walking, his guards in tow. Gosh… It all made sense now. And Edwin felt like a fool for not recognizing her. Once he reached the throne, he dropped into a bow and brought a gentle smile to his face.
His captain of guard introduced him, “May I, Captain of [Insert foreign country name here (I am at loss for ideas rn)]’s Guard present Prince Edwin XXV”
(Lmao wtf Evanna)
Evanna bowed to the prince, nudging Savannah to stand and do the same.
(Lmao wtf Evanna)
(lol)
Savannah's heart was pounding and she was just completely shocked and speechless. She knew that Evanna's line was next, but her mind had blanked. She smoothed out her gown and adjusted her tiara nervously as she stood and curtsied. How could I have not recognized him?
Edwin stood and said gently, “It’s an honor to meet you, Princess Savannah.”
Evanna frowned at Edwin. "May I, Evanna Gris, guard at charge of the princess, present to you, the Lady Savannah."
"And you as well, Prince Edwin." Savannah said in the calmest voice she could muster. All these people were staring at them; she couldn't screw this up.
(I'm feeling the urge to draw Savannah's dress now lol)
(Oof pretend mine was right after Rvan XD)
Edwin smoothed his tunic. He had no idea what to do. They had already been acquainted moments before. Edwin’s captain of guard coughed quietly enough that only the prince could hear, and Edwin continued with a compliment, “You look very beautiful in that lovely dress.”
(I'mma just sneak in right here)
Riverpaw jumped up onto a window ledge, looking through in awe at the large room. She had never been to a royal event before, her papa said creatures like them normally weren't welcome, but she decided to take a risk, a very rare thing in her case. She could see the princess from there, and, goodness, people weren't joking when they said how beautiful she is.
Savannah smiled softly, curtsying again. "Thank you, Prince Edwin. You look very dashing as well." I don't remember this from the rehearsal… oh well, just improvise.
“Why thank you, Princesss,” Edwin replied, completely forgetting what he was supposed to do. He would have liked to blame it on the long trip on the sea, but… Gosh, it was so awkward.
Evanna' face was turning red. She tried to keep herself from shaking. It was just so hilarious how awkward the two were behaving with each other!
Savannah sat back down on her throne, gesturing for Edwin to do the same in the one positioned beside it. That's all the talking for now. The ceremony will take place after the feast, of course… and then… well, I don't know what happens after that. No one said.
Edwin took a deep breath and sat beside Savannah -Princess Savannah- and tried to not glance at her. He heard a feast would be served. Edwin’s captain of guard stood rigidly at his side, and you could tell he knew something was amiss.
Savannah had her hands folded neatly in her lap, sitting up tall in the way she had always been taught as the pre feast speech was given by her mother. Something about the betrothal, we're glad you could all make it, and such things. After a few minutes of that, some servants brought out the food and Savannah relaxed a bit. All eyes weren't on her now.
Edwin still felt like the nobles were watching him. Testing him. He sat rigidly as food was revealed to him. He took small, polite bites, but wasn’t very hungry. He was still in shock of Savannah being the princess. Edwin turned to her, “What is your country like?”
"It is a humble, but respectable country. It has many gorgeous landscapes and is on friendly terms with several other countries. It also has multiple allies and has a strong military." Savannah said in a manner that suggested it was something she had been taught to recite from heart.
“And the commerce?” Edwin added the question in the most formal and stiff way possible. He could guess the answer based on the fisherman’s pricing.
