"Stay out of this, the Doctor rarely ever kills anyone. Only when he's forced to, and sometimes not even then." Susan whispered.

Pit sighed and stepped back beside Susan. He clearly couldn't stop them now, but he would step in if someone was going to die. He was very short next to Susan; he had always been very short. Everyone else seemed tall next to him because he was just over five feet tall.

"Wings aren't normal for humans, but I never believed in angels, so what are you?" Susan asked, watching the two men fight.

"Well, I am an angel. Dunno what to tell you either than… uh… do you believe in them now?" He laughed, moving his wings a bit. They were bent and didn't seem suited for flight.

"No, not really." she sighed, looking through the trees at an invisible something and smiling.

"What would it take to make you believe your eyes? I mean, with that guy, surely you've encountered stranger?" Pit looked at the Doctor. "He has a time machine!"

"What make you think it's a time machine?" Susan asked.

"You said 'aliens invaded the past again'. That implies that you are in the past and, therefore, probably don't ordinarily live during this time. Also your clothes and the fact that those-" Pit gestured towards the TARDIS. "-don't exist yet kind of give you away."

"Okay, so you travel through time as well then?" she asked.

"I have before. After all, I work for a goddess. She has the power to do that if need be."

"Oh, a goddess you say? Interesting." Susan said.

"Yeah, Lady Palutena. She's great. Viridi says I'm just a 'glorified intern' though, whatever that means." Pit shrugged.

The Doctor made his way across a log bridge, balancing precariously as he blocked the other man's sword. Suddenly, he kicked Robin Hood in the stomach and into the water. "Now that," he said, " Is how you- argh!" he yelped, as he fell into the water himself. Susan suppressed a giggle, seeing the Doctor soaking wet was quite comical.

"They're not hurt, are they?" Pit stood on his tiptoes to make sure that everyone was alright, using his crooked wings for a bit of balance. His bow hung loosely in his hand.

"Not fair!" the Doctor said, spitting water out of his mouth. Robin Hood let out a bellowing laugh, and the Doctor flared internally. "You alright, Doctor?" Susan asked, running up to the bridge and pulling the Doctor out of the water.

"Everyone alright? Who won?" Pit asked, trotting over to the river. He couldn't decide whether he was worried, curious, or perhaps both.

"Neither of them won, obviously. And you can come on out Lucas, there's no mortal danger." Susan said.

"Are you sure?" Lucas asked nervously, peering out from the inside of the TARDIS. He cautiously made his way out and towards the group.

"Yes, I'm sure." Susan told him. Once Lucas had exited, Susan snapped her fingers and the TARDIS doors closed.

Lucas jumped when the door snapped shut, moving closer to Susan. "Jumpy, isn't he?" Pit looked down at Lucas, which was impressive because Pit was usually shorter than everyone else. Lucas was just even shorter.

"You are a rather interesting man, Doctor." Robin Hood chuckled. "You don't know the half of it." Susan muttered.

"You guys… you… you're done fighting now, right?" Lucas asked, glancing at Pit's weapon anxiously.

"I suppose we are. You are a better swordsman than I had previously assumed, even if you used a spoon." Robin Hood admitted.

"Wait, he fought with a spoon? How are you still even alive?" Lucas asked, shocked.

"Did you not see my fabulous spoon?" the Doctor asked, withdrawing yet again a very large spoon.

"Uh… no. I was sorta hiding and trying not to die." Lucas said, again moving a bit closer to Susan. He felt safer with her around, but he was pretty sure that the Doctor was a little bit mad.

"There was very little chance of death in such a situation, and besides, you're not going to die anytime soon." Susan scoffed.

"You never know… you could be living one minute and just gone the next. I've seen it happen before…" Lucas said quietly. Pit seemed a bit confused, but didn't pry.

"Yes, but you won't die for a while now." Susan assured him. It was a family trait to know these things.

"I hope so…" Pit looked between Susan and Lucas. "So… am I missing something here? Why is blondie all upset all of a sudden?"
