yeah
essentially it's really hard to get citizenship in the US, especially if you're POC
which is dumb and racist and totally comes from xenophobia in like… WW2 and dumb laws/prejudices established then (tho I believe many of those laws have been repealed?)
so
really if the president (whoever it may be) wants to decrease the number of illegal immigrants
they need to make getting citizenship feasible

what do we do about those

background checks- including mental health screenings
it's not about tighter gun control- ppl will always have access to weapons
it's about who has the guns- if people are mentally ill, they should not be sold firearms

  • If you want to purchase a gun, you must go through a safety and training course to get a license, which must be presented at purchase
  • Regester gun owners with the local police
  • Background checks, prevent people with charges of violence (That they haven't been acquitted from) from having access to weapons
  • Not having fucking war machines accessible to civilians
