Brennan walked down to the Elevator, pressed the down button and waited for the elevator to arrive. When it got to he floor he walked in, held the door for Mina, and pressed the 2nd floor button.

Mina followed behind, whispering a "Thank you." to Brennan, taking note of where everything was.

“What for?” He asked as they arrived at the cafeteria door, holding it open for her again.

"For holding all the doors for me."

“I’m just being a gentleman. My momma raised me right” he said following her in. “Vending machines over there, there’s always salads in the fridge for everyone, and Jessica brought in pizza today if you want that too.” He said guesturing to everything.

Mina went over to where she smelt the pizza and grabbed a slice then went to the fridge to grab a salad.

Brennan let her get her food then grabbed a salad for himself and sat down at a near by table.

Mina went and sat down with Brennan because she knew no one else.

“So what did you do before you came her to America?” He asked, remembering she said she’d come for Japan.

"Well I just finished collage, then I came here and went job searching. I'm still getting used to some of the cultural differences."

“Sounds like fun. America’s like a mixing bowl. All the cultures are mixed into one and there’s something for everyone here” he said taking a bite of his salad.

"For one thing the food is very different," She looks at the pizza examining it. "and the respect levels are very different." She said taking a bite of the pizza she had just previously examined.

“Yea. We have Asian food too of course. What was your favorite meal back at home?”” He said eating more salad throughout the statement and question.

(Ahhh. Sorry, I thought I responded to this ages ago)

"This is fine. I like to try new things." She took another bite of the pizza. "My favorite food from Japan would probably be mochi. I have some that I could bring in if you would like to try it."

“sure. sounds fantastic.” he said with a grin, taking a few bites.

"Really!? I would love to share with you about my culture as I learn about your's." Mina smiled a grand smile.

Brennan nodded. “i always thought Asian culture was interesting but never had any reason to learn about it before”

Mina took another bite of the pizza before talking again. "If you have any questions about any country just ask me. I have a brother who majored in Asian studies and he loved to come how and tell me stories about what he learned that day."

“i don’t really have questions, i just wanted to learn more about it” he said with a shrug.

"That's cool. But if you have any questions, you know who to ask." Mina shrugged taking a bite of the pizza again.

“okay” he said with a chuckle. they finished they lunch with light conversation and plenty of laughter.

Mina sat in a slight awkward silence after she finished her pizza. She sat at the table with her hands folded in he lap.

Brennan finished his salad shortly after Mina finished her pizza and stood, picking up his trash and hers to toss in the garbage and recycle bins.

Mina stood and thanked Brennan with a slight bow. She followed him to the trash can, not knowing what else to do.

"well where were we before lunch?" he asked, walking to the door of the cafeteria, holding it open for her.

Mina smiles as she walked through the door. “You were going to show me around, right?”

"Uhh yea. thats right. Where do you want to start?" he asked, following her through the door.

Mina shrugged. “I don’t know. Where do you think we should start?”

"Well either the bottom or the top. either would be good." He said walking in the general direction of the elevator.
