"Yep. That means either you're confused about being a princess or you argued with your father again."

Rose sighed as she collapsed backward onto her bed.

"How about both?" she groaned.

"I mean, you pretty much ask for it every time." He leaned against the wall. "I agree with you but you do."

"He just doesn't understand that I just don't like to do certain things!" Rose exclaimed. Her voice turned mockingly deep as she spoke, "'Rose, you must learn how to embroider this tapestry.' 'Rose, sit still and wave; don't greet people.' 'Make sure you look pristine every. Single. Day. For no reason.'
I don't like embroidery; it's useless! I like greeting my future subjects, I think it makes them feel as if I will be a good queen. And as for looking absolutely perfect? Who even cares? The only people who see me ninety percent of the time are those of us that live in the castle."

Gerard nodded. "I agree. It's not practical."

Rose sat up and looked at Gerard again.

"Exactly! What's the point of all of it?" she questioned rhetorically. "You see why I argue so often?"

"Yep. Plus it's in your nature." He nodded.

"True, true," Rose admitted, nodding with a slight shrug. She yawned, covering her mouth with her hand. "Sorry."

"Don't be. You should rest. Or just ponder the complexities of life while lying on your back. I don't really care."

Rose snorted. "All right, yeah. I'll do one of those things," she said with a small smile.

"So…do all the princes fall at a dead faint at your feet? Cus that's one stunning smile."

(Sorry, my friend was in my room, talking to me. Lol.)

"Uh… No…?" Rose replied uncertainly, a light blush making its way to her cheeks. In all honesty, she didn't really interact much with princes that weren't her brother. And he certainly didn't fall at her feet.

"How?" He cocked his head. "Oh well. I guess you don't get out much."

"Nope," Rose agreed, her voice a slightly higher than normal. Why is he saying this?
