"Still, we are in your dept. Which brings us to the next matter." Polla turned to the other villagers. "These travelers have come here asking for our help. A very powerful very bad man is planning to destroy all but the purest of humans and replace us with monstrosities of his own creation. He lives very close to here, and who knows when he will strike. Tanrial and her friends have requested that we join them to fight this man and prevent the destruction. Do we agree?"
The villagers murmured among themselves for a few minutes. Then Ozrig spoke up. "What kind of manpower does this man have? Will we be outnumbered?"
“If we were to fight with only your men, yes, we’d be outnumbered,” She paused for a moment, “But, we might be able to call in some help. My old village and… people might be willing to join the cause. We should have relatively even numbers then.”
They conferred again, then turned back. "How long will it take your people to get here? A few days? A few weeks?"
“Four days at most. The humans in the village might take a week, though.” She said, leaning back in her chair.
Mike leaned forward. "By the way, we should also mention that we have another advantage over our opponent. While he can still attack us, most of his plan hinges on one very important item. It's called a data drive. What he may not yet know is that we stole the drive from him while we were there. It contains the secrets of the old days–medicine, science, language, everything. With it, we could be the ones to save the world, and without having to kill everyone."
“He doesn’t know we have the real one but it won’t take him long to figure it out. He probably already has.”
The group spoke quietly one more time. Then the bartender stepped forward. "We've decided. We're going to wait until your folks show up, then help you–provided nothing's changed before them."
(Off to bed, see ya later ^^)
Tanrial nodded, “Thankyou for your help, it is much appreciated.”
"You are welcome." Polla clasped her hands together. "Now then. There's a bit of a mess outside, but we'll clean it up in the morning. Ozrig, post a sentry just in case those bandits don't give up so easily. In the meantime, Tanrial, you and your friends should get some rest. The dawn will come before you know it."
“Alright, one more question, though. Do you have any means of sending letters? Like messenger birds or something like that? Just so I can get a few messages do those potential allies I spoke of earlier.” She asked.
"Runners come through ahead of the trading caravans every month. There should be one who can take your letter in the next couple of days."
(sorry, can't be on tonight. :( Seeya tomorrow)
Tanrial nodded, “Noted, thank you for that information.” She said, bowing her head in thanks.
(Aww, alright. See you tomorrow)
Snatch and Bernon both yawned simultaneously. "Well, it's been a long one," Bernon said. "I'm ready to turn in. I guess Snatch will have to sleep in your room with you, Tanrial."
“Guess so, come on. Let’s head to bed.” She said to Snatch, indicating to the door and talking the little girl’s hand in hers.
Snatch nodded following her up to her room and hopping up onto the foot of the bed. "I like this dress thing," she murmured sleepily. "I'mma keep it. Night, Tanrial."
Tanrial smiled at her before lying down, ”Alright, goodnight, Snatch.”
The rest of the night passed uneventfully. In the morning, It was the smell of frying fish and Snatch bouncing on the bed that woke her up.
"I'm hungry!" Snatch seemed to have regained all her energy by now. "Get up, get up!"
Tanrial groaned, “Can’t you go ask Bernon and Mike? You can open a door I’m sure.”
"But I want you to come down with me! Pleeeease?" She stopped bouncing and stared at her with wide, pleading eyes.
Tanrial rubbed her face and sat down on the bed before sighing and giving in, “Fine, fine.”
"Yay!" Snatch leapt off the bed. "Hurry up! I wanna say hi to Rebka too!"
(brb, gotta go pick up my sister, back soon)
(Alright)
“Yes, I’m coming.” She stood and stretched her back out before following Snatch downstairs.
As it turned out, Bernon was already up, eating a hearty breakfast of pancakes and trout. He waved at them and smiled. "Morning. Mike's still asleep I guess, but he said he wanted us to have a meeting when we were all awake."
(Off to bed, seeya tomorrow)
Tanrial nodded, “Alright, cool.” She yawned and sat down in front of him, resting her head in one hand, “I think I prefer Snatch as a cat.” She muttered.
(Seeya)
Bernon chuckled, watching as Snatch trotted into the kitchen to find her new friend. "I'm sure the excitement will wear off soon. She sure is harder to keep up with like this, isn't she? Now I don't feel so bad for losing her yesterday."
The bartender came over and greeted Tanrial politely. "Morning, Miss. Can I get you some breakfast? We've got some lovely trout fresh from the lake that we're fryin' up right now, if that's to your taste."
“Oh, no thank-you. I’m not that hungry.” She said, giving the bartender a small smile.
