Can you guys critique this novel idea?

Okay, so I have an asexual panromantic (Asexual means not sexually attracted to anyone but panromantic is romantic attraction regardless of gender, to clarify) character, and her love interest, a lesbian woman who works in an animal shelter. The plot is that character 1 meets character 2 at the animal shelter because 1 adopts a kitten and 2 is rather fond of said kitten, and somehow 1 and 2 stay in touch, and then 2 gets a job in a cafe after the animal shelter she works at closed down, and plot twist! 1 also works there, and then the two end up falling in love, all because of that kitten.

Is this a good idea for a novel of should I trash it?
