He shrugged. He knew he had boundaries but he didn't want her to be suspicious yet. "Anything, really. Within reason."

"No, I'm fine." She smiled a little. She squeezed her hands together, trying to regain some warmth. Her nose and cheeks were a light red from the cold.

“Youcanhavemyjacket,” he rushed. “… sorry. Want my jacket?”

"But then you'll be cold. Or maybe not but still. I'm fine, really." She was a bit confused though. Why was he so anxious?

"Well, we have all night, don't we?" Hayley said, sending her gaze back to his eyes.

"Yeah, we do." He smiled a little. Hayley was a talker, using her words to get what she wanted. As long as he could resist them, he'd be fine. He had another girl to think about.

Without warning, Hayley wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately, like they did when they dated.

Ginger watched sadly. She felt… numb.

He immediately pushed her off. Her kiss was nothing like Ginger's. "Hayley I told you once and I'll tell you again, I have a girlfriend and I won't hurt her like that."

"But then you'll be cold. Or maybe not but still. I'm fine, really." She was a bit confused though. Why was he so anxious?

“Okay, let me know if you need it,” then the silence returned with the he shaking of his foot.

She instantly regretted not taking it as the wind blew through, harsh and strong. She shivered, curling up a little to avoid losing any more warmth.

Ryan took his jacket off and handed it to her wordlessly.

"And if they found out he's alive? What then?"

“I don’t know,” he shrugged as if this was no big deal but as always it kind of was.

"No, you have to know something. This is too big not to know."

"That I did. But I also said I'd do anything within reason. Within reason means I'm not cheating on Ginger." The good thing about Hayley was that she wasn't too bright and he knew he could take advantage of that.

"You're no fun! What about how you cheated on me? With Delta Reynolds?"

"I'm tons of fun, you know that. But the difference between you and her is that Ginger is different. Special. I've never loved any other girl like I love her."

“I dunno,” he laughed. “We could find out if you’d prefer,”

"You were something different at one point?" The only reason he remembered her is because she was crazy. Other than that she just blended into a blur with the rest of the girls he'd been with.

"Not to mention Belle Adams! Is that why she's here? So you can get over her? Or are you just cheating on Belle like you've cheated on every other girl so far?"

Ginger felt like she'd just been slapped. Belle?

He burst out laughing. "You can't bring her into this that's insulting to her!" He laughed, finally regaining his breath. "Sweetheart she's moved on. Last thing I heard is that she just got engaged. Nice guy, a good match for her. She moved on and so have I."

Ryan sighed and relaxed into her lips, he was lost in the mess of his brain but she helped him to find his way.
