Sobex showed his wide eyes and shuffled away from them, shivering. His stripes were black.

"Hey, Soby." Sia murmured gently. "It's okay. You can come out."

Sobex gave another shaky yap and shuffled into the shadows of a corner.

"C'mon sweetie. We're not angry at each other."

Sobex drew his tail over his face again and shivered more violently.

Sia reached under the table for him. "What's the matter honey?"

Sobex yapped frightfully again and scooted away, into Gij's feet, who lifted him up carefully.

"Soby sweetie, you're okay, Gij's okay, I'm okay. You don't need to be scared."

Sobex shivered but didn't restrain Gij. Gij spoke to him in gentle dragon and sat down.

Sia sat down next to him. "What're you saying?" She asked quietly.

(It's a youtube made song and it's really good. I have it stuck in my head constantly. ^3^)

"I'm just telling him there's nothing to worry about… Upthyurm…" He took his hoodie off and wrapped Sobex in it.

Sia nodded. "Maybe I should defuse some lavender. It's a calming herb."

"He'll be okay… He just needs warmth and sleep. I think I could use the same." Gij mumbled the last bit and lowered his gaze. I wonder if I'll be warm enough…

"Okay. That's sounds like a good idea." She glanced at the clock. "Can I get you anything to help you sleep?"

"No, unless you have like extra blankets or something. I get really cold at night." He shrugged and collected Sobex in his arms, who was burrowed in his warm hoodie.

"Yeah, I'll go get them." She went to the closet in her room and pulled out a couple of blankets. "Here. I hardly use these ones. I don't care for fleece."

"Thanks." He carried Sobex to his room and set him down on his pillow, then took the extra sheets

"G'night Gij."

"Night Sia." He set the bed and moved Sobex to his side. Soon he was out like a light.

Sia climbed up the stairs. Work had been slow, so Lucia had let her leave early. Sia had been able to go grocery shopping and had picked up a take and bake pizza. She unlocked the door to her apartment and walked in. "Hey you guys, I'm home." She said, closing the door.

Sobex came scrambling over in a hurry to see who'd come, and Gij poked his head out of the bathroom with a toothbrush in his mouth. He raised a hand in greeting.

Sia smiled. "Do you like pepperoni pizza?"

He nodded and disappeared to spit out the extra paste. He washed out his mouth and walked out of the bathroom. "Yeah!"

"Excellent!" Sia grinned and walked into the kitchen. She set the oven to preheat and started putting the others groceries away.
