Abby smiled and lead him across the parking lot to where the Corvette was parked. Erik got out of his car and waited for her. His expression became unreadable as they came closer.

River smiled lazily and waved at Erik. He said in a pleasant tone, "Hey."

"…." Tara sighed. "I don't know…."

"Hey," Erik responded. His eyes narrowed at Abby. "Babe, come on." He looped his arm expertly around her waist, basically shrugging River's off, and kissed Abby's temple. "We're gonna go for a ride, okay baby?" Abby slipped out if his grip and curled into River's side, putting her hand in his chest.
"You broke up with me this morning. I've moved on," she said, kissing River's cheek.

River held his blush back as he kissed her temple right where Erik had just. He smiled at Erik, "Ah, so your the guy who breaks up over text at five in the morning. A grade A douche."

"…." Tara sighed. "I don't know…."

Darren laughed and closed his eyes again, he almost hoped she'd sleep.

Tara, too exhausted from the past few days, lost her battle to keep her eyes open and had drifted off to sleep.

Darren smiled and held her close, he hadn't unpacked blankets yet so her chances of staying warm rested in his hands literally.

Erik's jaw opened, closed, opened, closed, and locked. His eyes glinted. He wasn't buying it. Abby did the only thing that she could think of to convince him, she pulled River's neck all he leaned down just slightly and she kissed him.

With one of her hands, she cupped his face affectionately. Second later, she broke off, smiling widely.

River beamed at her. He had slightly forgotten about Erik.
