"Why are you hiding your face? Sobex seems rather concerned." She said, gently laying her hand on his shoulder.

"I like hiding it." Gij sniffled gently and Sobex yapped.

Sia sighed. She sat down next to him. "You don't need to hide it Gij." She said, gently placing her arm around his shoulder. She felt this to be a presumptuous move on her part, but wasn't sure what else to do.

"It's not about you. Sobex, go, I'll be okay." Sobex growled again.

Sia sat there, not sure what to do.

Sobex didn't move. He growled and pushed his hands away from his face. Gij's face was streaked with tears, and his head was still hanging.
"Th-there."

"Gij, you keep telling me you're fine, but you aren't." She moved closer. "What's wrong?"

"I am. Sobex is just worried." Gij inhaled and shook his head.

"And I think he has a good reason to be." She said.

Sobex crawled up onto the table and squinted his eyes. He yapped again.
"Sobex, I might. Now be quiet."

"Might what?" Sia asked quietly.

"It's nothing." Gij shook his head.

"It doesn't seem like it."

"It isn't. It's nothing." Gij shook his head and straightened up a little.

Sia arched an eyebrow. "You're sure?" She asked, though it sounded more like a statement.

"Mhm… don't you have to go to work soon?" He looked at him through sad eyes. Sobex slapped his tail on the table.

Sia glanced at the clock. "If I call now, I can say I can't come into work today."

"You don't need to call in. I'll be fine." He nodded.

"I am seriously doubting that." She said firmly, standing up walking to the wall where the phone was. She dialed a number and stood waiting.

"No, don't, Sia, I'm fine."

"Hello? Hi Lucia! It's me, Sia. I've some things have come up and I can't make it to work today." She paused as Lucia replied. "Thanks. I owe ya one." She hung up and sat back down at the table. "Gij, to be frank, I don't think you have enough emtional stability for me to leave you here by yourself."

Sobex yapped his agreement and grinned dragon-like at Sia.
"I'm telling you, I'll be fine." Gij inhaled a little.

Sia smiled at Sobex. "Maybe, but right now, you aren't."

"I… Sobex…" Sobex grinned at him and yapped.

Sia laced her fingers together. "Sobex is worried about you, and I don't want to leave you alone in the state you're in."

"Sobex can worry all he wants, I'm fine."

"No. You're not." She said firmly.

"Yes… I am… I think." He responded meekly.
