He got injected again and fell away into unconsciousness, thinking about cheeseburgers.

Blake watched Ace slip back into sleep again. He had to struggle to keep his own eyes open at the moment. He did he best to remain awake and safeguard Ace.

Ellis walked beside Zander, pondering, "What's your name?" He asked curiously.

Zander looked down at the little boy, and extended his hand to him. "I'm Zander, and I'm watching you two until the girls come back from their shopping trip."

Ellis took his thumb. "Can you teach me how to fly?" He asked, "My brother's sick so I can't make him teach me right now. Look! My wings are fledged now. I'm going to fly better than Blake someday, you know." He boasted.

Zander smiled at his comment, and mused teaching him."I don't really know how to fly myself, but it would hurt to try as long as I'm watching you." He thought a moment." Okay, I can try teaching you." Zander said smiling.

Ellis's glacier eyes lit up with childlike excitement, smile gleaming. "Thank you!"

Zander laughed lightly," Then let's go find a spot where you can spread those wings of yours."

"Yes please!" He echoed in a squeak, almost quivering with anticipation.

Zander turned and looked down the hallway. "Uhh.. Let's go this way." Zander said leading Ellis down a hallway. After a few twists and turns that Zander(thinks he) memorized, they arrived at a large atrium." Would this be a good room?" Zander asked Ellis.
(My teacher showed us the grade for the last big test, and I did pretty good so… HUZZAH!!!!!)

Ellis looked around with eyes like moons. "Wooow!" He shook in amazement. "Yes! This is perfect!" He giggled.

" Alright then," Zander said, casting a quick spell." I put a spell around you that will stop you from colliding with objects you get too close to and it'll keep you from crashing against the ground, but other that you'll be free flying. Are you gonna be good with that?"

"Oh, cool!" He agreed energetically. "How do I get off the ground?"

"Uhh…" I have not thought this through, Zander thought." Try opening your wings, and giving them a large flap to launch you up."

Ellis spread his glossy black wings, and began furiously flapping them. It did just about nothing, except make a nice breeze.

"Okay, let's try this instead." Zander said, pulling out his phone quickly, searching something, then just as quickly putting it away. "Try to get a running start, then jump, and I'll create a small breeze for your wings to catch."

Ellis looked at Zander, considering this for a moment. "Okay!" He decided.

Zander smiled, This should work, hopefully… " Okay, get ready, get set…. GO!"

Ellis squealed with excited laughter, and dashed off in a run with his wings extended.

Zander watched as Ellis shot off happily, and watched carefully for his jump. As soon as he did, Zander sent a strong, but gentle gust for Ellis wings to catch.

Ellis braced himself against the wind. The ginger-haired boy lifted a good two feet or so off the ground, but when he tried flapping, he sank back to his feet. Despite the small success, his expression was wild with amazement. "Did you see that!?"

"Yeah, I did. "Zander said smiling." And that was awesome." Zander took a second peek at his phone, and gleaned more knowledge." Okay this time, try angling your wings so that when you flap your pushing air backwards and behind you."

"Angle them." Ellis echoed pensively, trying to do so while he was standing still.

"Here, before we try again, just try flexing your wings like that so you can get used to the motion." Zander said, shifting Mackenzie to his other side.

He nodded, keeping his eyes examining his fledged black wings.

"Frankie it's me. Your dad." Frankie was skeptical. "What song did you sing me when I was little?" He hesitates. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." Frankie frowns angerly and pulls something out of her back pocket. A match. She strikes it and drops it on the floor, grabbing her bag and running she yells, "YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE" On her way out she scoops up some fire in her hands willing it to form into a fireball and grow. She quickly wills the fire on the ground to go out once she's gotten far enough away. She did have powers.

Zander watched as Ellis flexed his wings, and felt like a proud mama bird. He checked his phone again to check for anymore tips, but didn't find anything. He looked back to Ellis.

He was looking back up, and clapped his hands, "I'm ready to try again!"

"Alright, ready, set… GO!" Zander said as the young boy took off.

He ran off then with his wings putspread, tightly shutting his eyes
