What am I supposed to do?! Lucas pressed himself against the wall of the school. There was no way he could go back out in front when he was moments away from catching fire. He stared at a patch of grass that he could see Kaly's shadow on for a moment before it burst into flames. Lucas jumped a bit, startled. Well, that wasn't intentional…

Kaly heard the crackling of flames. LUCAS! She gasped and pulled away, hurrying around the corner to see her brother. "Lucas?!"

"Er… h-hi, Kaly! How are you?" Lucas shrunk against the wall, smiling weakly up at Kaly. "Dad should be here soon, so we should probably make our way to the bus stop…" His voice faltered and faded out when he saw Kaly's furious face.

"What are you doing here?!" Kaly hissed. The boy came behind her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. He kissed her lightly on the cheek.
"Nah, it's fine Kal. Hey dude."

Lucas's hair was smoking again as he looked up at his sister and the boy he didn't know. "I… I-I was looking for you because you didn't show up in front of the school like usual…" Does he know about our powers? He doesn't look like a super… I hope Kaly doesn't get too mad at me… He cowered on the wall, his eyes glowing faintly in the shadows.

"Put out the fire," Kaly ordered.
"Calm down, baby. It's fine," the boy assured.
"Mmmm…" Kaly looked up and they kissed again intensely.

"I-I can't! I don't know how!" Lucas said quietly after they had finished. He was getting more and more stressed. Their father would be furious if he found out. Embers were flying around Lucas now, and small flames licked the ground around him.

"Dude, calm down." The boy advised.
Kaly pressed a hand to his chest and looked at Lucas with a nod.

Lucas relaxed a bit when Kaly seemed to have overcome the worst of his anger, and the flames retreated. His hair and clothes still seemed to be smoking, but the fire had gone for the most part.

"Nice, dude. Kal told me about your family's powers. She even showed me some if hers. I'm Bryson," he said, sticking a hand out. He hesitated. "Wait, your hands aren't hot still, are they?"

"Er, I-I highly doubt they're scalding." Lucas laughed weakly and shook Bryson's hand. His hands were indeed hot, but not hot enough to actually hurt anyone or anything. His hands were always warm, though.

"Coolio. Well, you can go wait for your dad. I'm going to take Kaly home," Bryson said, looking deep into her eyes.
Kaly did the same. "Lucas, go wait for dad…" barely made it out before their lips crashed together again. He pinned her against the wall and she giggled into his mouth.

Lucas stepped away awkwardly and sat on the bench, waiting for their father to arrive. He had stopped smoking, although the tips of his hair were still singed a bit. His stress levels hadn't really gotten better, and he tapped his foot on the ground anxiously.

Kaly and Bryson made noises. Her hands were tangled in his hair and his hands were just at her waistline.

Bob pulled up in the family car, honking the horn twice to let his kids know he was there.

Kaly ignored the honking. She moaned slightly louder.

Lucas got into the backseat of the car, still stressed and flustered. While he had been waiting, he had time to think about the incident again, and how he almost gave away his powers.

Bob looked out the window and sighed. “I’m going to go look for Kaly.” He got out of the car.

Kaly giggled and slipped her fingers under the collar of his shirt.
He retaliated, his fingers innocently sliding under the hem of her shirt, coming to rest on her waist.

Kaly wished that this moment could last forever.

Bob wandered around campus, turning corners at random, until he saw Kaly talking to someone from behind. “Kaly! Time to go- oohhhh. What?”
