"Some people would also call that friendship." Tay ate his cinnamon bun slowly, the syrup getting onto his lips and then he licked his lips.

Vera tilted her head. “Fair enough.”

Tay finished the cinnamon bun and paid, standing up and offering a hand to Vera, "Let's go."

Vera accepted, getting up.

Tay walked to the car and got inside, holding up a bunch of CD's to Vera, "You pick which cheesy song we get to listen to."

(You get to make the songs up, yay!)

Vera looked through them all, eventually selecting “Dance with Somebidy”. “I’m a sucker for Whitney Houston.”, she said.

"Aren't we all?" Tay leaned into his seat, popping the CD in and starting the ignition.

Vera leaned back in the seat, relaxing. “Thanks for giving me a ride.”, she said, turning her head to look at Tay.

"You're welcome. Now, where do you live? I can't take you out all night." Tay drove out of the parking lot.

She gave him Eryin’s address, finding with surprise that the gentle atmosphere of the car unearthed the old Vera, the quiet, shy one that she missed almost every day.

Tay drove through the silent streets. "Maybe, I'll see you at school tomorrow? I'm always near the table that's next to the giant "No Bullying" sign."

Vera shrugged with a smile. “Sure. See you then.”, she replied, her voice dropping slowly back into its old, quieter tones.

"Great." Tay pulled into a parking spot and opened the door for her. "You wouldn't mind if I walk you?"

Vera smiled. “Not at all.”, she smiled as she got out. “I don’t think I’ve ever met anybody as polite as you.”

"Really?" Tay followed Vera as she led him to the crazy girl's (Eryon) home.

Vera shook her head, breathing in the night air. “Never.”

"Hmm." Tay held onto Vera's hand and when they reached the door, pressed a kiss onto her cheek. "Stay safe and don't get into cars with random strangers," he whispered.

Vera’s eyes widened as Tay pressed his lips to her cheek. “I. , um—- sure, yeah.”, she stammered, blushing.

"Go get some rest." Tay smiled, "Have a good night."

“Um— you too.”, she replied, completely flustered.

"Thanks." Tay patted her shoulder.

"Goodnight.", she said with a smile, dissapearing into the garden and climbing up to her window.

Tay smiled and walked back to his car.

Vera climbed up to her and Eryon's bedrrom window, slipping in and changing into pyjammas. All she could think about was Tay.

Tay drove back home and yawned.
