"Yeah, he is." Gij smiled and started on another row of scales.
Sobex snuggled into Gij's pant legs and waved his nubs around faster, purring quietly.

Sia started running her fingers through her hair, combing it back before starting to braid it. "I don't know how people find it in themselves to abuse animals. And people." She added, shuddering.

"It's terrible." Gij nodded faintly and sighed. His hands slowed down as if he were distracted.
Sobex yapped but it didn't bring him out of his memories

Sia nodded, also seeming to be distracted. She twisted a strand of her braid around her fingers. "What does it gain them?" She muttered. "A sick sense of superiority?"

"I-I don't know." Sobex stood up and nudged him, then looked over at Sia.
"Has it… it happened to you?" Gij asked quietly.

"Yes." She whispered, nodding slightly.

Sobex whimpered and crawled over so he was on top of them both, and Gij put a hand on her shoulder.
"You're not alone." He gave her a sad smile. "It's just the sick world telling you you're different. But… there's nothing wrong with that. Unless… it was different with you." His tone changed. "Sorry." He dipped his head.

Sia smiled. "Don't be sorry Gij." She patted Sobex's head. "I think they were just a little… not right in the head."

Gij smiled back, relieved she was smiling. "Okay." He said randomly and nodded. He rubbed his hand on his chest idly and let out a brief growl. "Come on…"

Sia frowned slightly. "You okay?"

"No… I have an itch…" He growled again and furiously rubbed at his chest.

"Ooookaayy. I've got some herbs for irritation if you're interested."

"It's under one of my scales, so it's being…. urrrgggG!!!!!"

Sia leaned back, slightly alarmed. "Is there anything I can get to help?"

Gij ripped his shirt and hoodie off without hesitation or warning and worked a nail under a scale or two. "Jeez… so annoying…"

"Hey, I should check the cut on your side since you decided to dispose of your shirt." Sia said, trying not to blush.

"Oh. Yeah, right, that." He looked down, a fingernail still under a scale. "It looks and feels fine. I might change it later on." He shrugged and continued itching.

"Okay. Just let me take a look at it when you do." She said, finding the opposite wall suddenly fascinating.

"Okay." He felt satisfied enough and looked up at her. "What?"

"Nothing." She said. "Are you going to put your shirt back on?"

"Umm… well since you're here now you could take a look at my wound, but I don't think there'll be a difference."

"Alright." She gently peeled back the bandaids. "Well, I don't think it has any poison in it, otherwise we could tell by now. I'll peel off the leaves and apply some more salve." She got up and fetched a small tin.

Sobex wiggled up to it and went to lick it. Gij batted him away lightly. "No, Sobex."
Sobex yapped indignantly.
"Your spit won't help."
Another yap.
"How do I know?"

She sat back down. "Oh wait. I should get some new bandaids." She got up again.

Gij grinned at her. "Yeah, you- SOBEX!"
Sobex had licked one of his wounds, but it had formed a scab.

"I don't think dragon saliva will do the wound any favors. Unless it has hidden healing properties." Sia said, sitting down next to them.
