“Kaly!” Bob called, hurrying out of the office. “Are you okay? What’s going on?”
“Kaly!” Bob called, hurrying out of the office. “Are you okay? What’s going on?”
Kaly rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine!"
“Are you positive?” Bob asked, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Are you absolutely sure?”
"Why is everyone yelling?" Lucas looked between his family members, confused.
“I don’t know!” Bob yelled. “Everyone else was yelling, so I did, too.”
Kaly flinched as her dad yelled. Again. "I'm fin be, Dad, can I go now?"
“How come you’re late?” Bob asked, one eyebrow raised. “Hmmm?”
"Late? I'm not late," Kaly replied.
"Uh, it's like 7:45 pm. Pretty sure school ends around… isn't it like, 4:00 for you?" Lucas offered.
(Fam?)
//sorry
“What he said,” Bob agreed. “Where were you?”
Kaly gave Lucas a look. "It's Tuesday. I always go out for smoothies after school with Liana and Regan on Tuesdays," she explained defensively.
“For three hours?” Bob questioned. “Wait, wait. Hang on.” He pretended to sniff the air. “Aha! I know what has happened!”
Kaly wrinkled her nose and raised her eyebrows. "What?"
“You were with a boy!” Bob exclaimed teasingly. “Who is it? That Michael boy down the street is cute… I always thought you liked him… but you’ve recently switched to Tobias’s type, if I remember correctly…” He grinned. “I know who it was! Steven!” (Shall we say that Steven is a boy Kaly most definitely does not like? If that’s ok with you :))
"Dad! No! Eww, no! I wasn't with a boy! I was with Liana and Regan!" Kaly insisted.
“Mhmm,” Bob nodded. “Suurreee.”
(Oh, that's fine!)

Kaly pivoted on her heels and stormed into her bedroom, muttering to herself. "Steven? Gross. Heck no."
Bob smiled, turning back to Lucas. “Well, Shall we schedule that appointment? Let’s go check with your mom.”
Kaly flopped onto her bed and pulled out her phone.
Evaline sighed, hearing the conversation from upstairs. She'd check in on Kaly in a little bit.
Kaly clicked on her messaging app. The newest unread message made her smile. She pressed the contact.
"Uh… sure." Lucas said after watching Kaly go. I hope she doesn't hate me now because I pointed that out… He always hated being on the wrong side of Kaly.
Kaly tipped a response happily and hit send. She turned her phone off momentarily to lift up her backpack with her powers and bring out over to her bed.
“Did we decide on tomorrow or tonight?” Bob thought aloud. “Hey, honey! Is it better for a tech guy to come today or tomorrow?”
Kaly heard her father yelling again. "Why can't ANYBODY in the house speak normally?" she muttered.
"I thought we decided on tonight?" Lucas yawned, following his father down the stairs slowly so as to not trip.
“I feel like that’s too late… honey?” Bob called again.
