Liam stared at the flowers in awe and he felt his own locket warm up and almost pulse, like it had its own heart beat. He brought his hand to the locket and held it as he watched the flowers grow.
Liam stared at the flowers in awe and he felt his own locket warm up and almost pulse, like it had its own heart beat. He brought his hand to the locket and held it as he watched the flowers grow.
The flowers finished growing, the lights around them dancing and flickering before beginning to fade as Cyprus began to slow. He eventually finished the song, a peaceful smile on his face
“Cy, That was beautiful.” Liam said quietly, turning back to the spirit with a smile on his face.
Cyrus grinned happily, something oddly at peace behind his smile. "Thank you," he said softly before letting the arm of fire fizzle out. He tucked the violin into his cloak, still smiling as he did so
“Guess now you have to see my artwork.” Liam mumbled as he reached behind him and grabbed his bag, opening the latch and zippers and pulling out a canvas. The painting was of a set of snow topped mountains towering over a forest of pine and oak trees, a crystal blue river running the the middle while the sun set behind them. Liam reluctantly handed the painting to Cyprus.
Cyprus took it from him gently, eyes widening at the sight of the painting. "Liam, this…this is gorgeous," he mumbled incredulously. "This is worthy of the royal galleries."
Liam rubbed the back of his neck, “I-It’s not. It’s just a stupid painting.” He said quietly, his cheeks flushing red with embarrassment.
"Shush, jello legs," Cyprus said before setting the painting in his lap. He reached into his cloak before pulling out what looked like a tablet, but the screen was seethrough glass. He tapped it, the screen lighting up a faint blue. He held it up to the painting, grinning as he took a picture
“Cyprus! W-why did you take a picture?” Liam said, his eyes widening a little as he looked at him then the painting then back to him.
"Because I just got my own datapad and your work is too beautiful to only see once," Cyprus replied before handing him the painting. "Can I see another?" he asked eagerly
Liam nodded slowly and out the first painting back in the bag and took out another. This one was of the beach side. A silhouette of a jetty stuck out in the middle, along with seagulls and other birds. Rocks lines the sandy shore, one had a seal on it and the waves were breaking up against them. The sun was also setting on this one, only the colours were more pink and orange then the previous one.
Cyprus took it from him gently, violet eyes sparkling as he gasped. "It's so beautiful! You're such an amazing painter, Liam!" he exclaimed, taking a picture of this one as well before turning to Liam with a grin
Liam blushed furiously, “T-thanks.” He managed to get out, looking at his lap so Cyprus couldn’t see how much he was blushing.
"Is that all you have, or is there more?" Cyprus asked eagerly, grinning widely as he passed the painting to Liam. "Lord, I'll play you a dozen songs if you have more."
Liam rolled his eyes, “Just take the bag if you’re that interested.” He said, throwing Cyprus the bag with the paintings he brought.
Cyprus scrambled to catch it, worried that the paintings might be hurt if he didn't. He began to rummage through the bag, grinning like a kid on Christmas as he pulled a few out
“I don’t get why you like them so much…” Liam muttered and drew pictures in the ground with a stick.
"Liam, that's like asking why the planet revolves around the sun," Cyprus remarked, taking pictures of each canvas and complimenting them afterwards
Liam couldn’t help but feel self conscious about his paintings. Eventually, his nerves died down a little and it wasn’t as bad.
Eventually Cyprus handed him the bag carefully, grinning as he did so. "These are breathtaking. All of them. I've never seen a better painting," he said with a grin
“Thanks but they aren’t that good. They can be improved and tweaked and… sorry I’m just self conscious about them.” He admitted.
"Well, that's perfectly normal. But you should know that these are the most beautiful paintings I have ever seen in my life," Cyprus said matter-of-factly
“Thank you, it means a lot.” He said, quietly, rubbing his neck with his hand.
"You're welcome," Cyprus hummed before floating to lay in the grass
Liam sighed and lied down, his bag at his side. He had a smile on his lips as he watched the sky, “You play beautifully, Cyprus.” He said quietly.
Cyprus looked over at him, a dorky smile of his own spreading across his face. "You think so?" he asked softly
“I know so.” He replied, looking at Cyprus and giving him a smile, “Best violin player I’ve ever heard.”
"Probably because it was magic," Cyprus chuckled, a faint flush rising to his cheeks
“I don’t care if it was magic or not, it was beautiful regardless.” Liam replied, his smile growing.
"Thank you," Cyprus mumbled, turning away so Liam couldn't see his deepening flush
