Xander sat in a cafe, having not gone to school that day. He found it difficult to be seen with his condition. He rubbed at his strangely vibrant blue eyes and exhaled sharply. He leaned his elbows on the table he was sat at, it being in the darker section of the cafe. He sipped his coffee, needing the caffeine to keep him awake.
Skylar was so excited to finally be done with school. She made a mental note to not go back tomorrow, she was dropping out, it was way too stressful and time consuming.
Ashira left school and went to a starbucks. She got a raspberry steamer and as usual they got her name wrong. She sat down at a table by herself. After a while she left the cafe and walked around the city. She went back to the street where she saw those people then started to walk away.
As Skylar walked to her house, she spotted the girl from last night walking away. She started running towards her, "Hey!" Skylar called, "Hey! You! Come here!"
Ashira saw the girl and started running.
Skylar ran after her, she needed answers. She followed the girl into an alley, “Gotcha!” She proclaimed to an empty alley.
After school, Luca dropped off his stuff at his apartment before heading back out. His parents didn't get home for a few hours so as long as he was home before they were. Luca zipped up his jacket and stuffed his hands in his pockets, making his way down the sidewalk.
(I am so late oh my god can I still worm my way into this somehow? I already put up my character)
(Yeah, of course you can join!)
Skylar crazily looked around the alley, sure she looked stupid to anyone looking at her. She looked up and down, but didn't see anything except for a few mice and rats. She gave up and walked out.
Katie waltzed into the cafe and ordered a caramel macchiato. She grinned at the waitress when she handed her her drink, and slipped into a table next to a guy who was vigorously rubbing at his eyes (xander). She frowned.
"I'm sorry, mate, it's really none of my business, but I don't think that's healthy."
Ashira morphed back into a human and gave a sigh of relief, then walked out of the alley.
"I don't think she saw me shift…" She whispered thankfully.
Skylar walked to the nearest coffee shop, wondering if she had just hallucinated. On the way there, she saw the boy from the other day. Skylar wished she had a coat with a hood, he probably recognize her because of her unusual hair color.
Luca carefully looked both ways to make sure no one was watching him. He leaned against the wall and took a deep breath, focusing all his energy like he had before.
Skylar watched the boy from the corner of her eye, hoping he wouldn't notice her. She watched as he leaned against a wall and shiftily look around. This intrigued her, so she decided to watch.
He closed his eyes and concentrated as hard as he could. Luca opened his eyes slowly this time when he felt the water droplets on his hand, careful not to lose it like he'd done before. He grinned to himself as the sphere of water appeared in his hand like before. Finally, it didn't disappear.
Cece walks across the street, noticing a broken traffic light. She brushes her hand on it as she goes past, sending a jolt from her fingers into it. When she looks back, the light still isn't working.
"Dang," she mutters. A cold breeze blows by and she rubs her arms, making her way down the street again.
Skylar curiously watched the boy and gasped as she saw a sphere of water appear in his hand. She clasped her hands over her mouth and hid behind a corner, hoping he didn’t see her. He’s like me! she thought, There are people out there like me! She ran to the nearest coffee shop and got a chocolate frap. She sat at an unoccupied table to think.
A girl with dark green hair exploded into the cafe, looking ecstatic. She ordered a chocolate frap and sat down at the table next to Katie's.
"A word of advice. The fraps here are utterly disgusting," she warned the girl.
Luca kept grinning as he walked down the sidewalk. He hunched over a little so no one could see him generate water. He created another ball of water, then retracted it. He kept going again and again, gradually getting more confident.
Cece continued to walk down the street, dodging people when she needed. The post office wasn't too far away. She stopped at a crosswalk, waiting for the light to go green. The person next to her was looking at their phone, which was going flat. Cece pretended to bump into them so that she could touch and charge the phone.
"Sorry," she said when the person glared at her. She moved over a little so that the person wouldn't think she was weird. The traffic started to stop and she got ready to walk over when someone ran into her from behind. She swiveled around to see the boy from her class, as well as a puddle on the cement. The puddle disappeared, just as the water in his hand did before.
"Sorry." Luca mumbled apologetically. He looked up to see who he'd bumped into. It was that girl from his class! The one who had hit him with a piece of paper. "Oh." He nodded at her, acknowledging that he knew who she was.
"Hey… I'm Cece," she says. She would shake his hand, but last time she did, she electrocuted the person. Rather not risk it.
"Luca." He smiled politely. He still wasn't sure how he felt about this girl…Cece? That was her name right? It was best to be nice until Luca decided if this girl was good or not.
The light started flashing green and Cece walked across. Luca followed her, so she tried to make small talk.
"That puddle on the ground was weird, wasn't it?" she said, "It just disappeared,"
Uh oh. Luca was new to this whole power thing, but he did know that he shouldn't tell everyone. "Huh. I didn't see it.."
"Not sure how, it was right in front of you." Cece states as they reach the other side of the road. "Anyway, where are you headed?"
Luca shrugged. "No clue. I'm just walking." He looked around, making sure that he knew where he was. He still had about and hour and a half before his parents got home. "What about you?"
Ashira decided to take a fly around the area looking for something interesting to do. She carelessly morphed into a falcon and flew around.
Ashira didn't find much, mostly just people. She saw 2 people talking to each other (Luca & Cece) and more people spread about the area. Ashira wished she had someone to be herself around or even just be around. She hated being alone but was forced to.
