Vien made sure that everything was clean, his OCD acting up a little bit as he cleaned
Vin grinned at him as Vien scrubbed the counter for the fourth time. "I think it's clean enough, love."
"No, it's not," Vien responded, obviously frustrated. With a groan of frustration he slapped the rag onto the counter, annoyed that the counter still didn't feel clean to him
"I'm not stopping you, I'm just gonna point out that we can see our reflections in it, now." Vin laughed gently, then stopped at the look on Vien's face.
"I-Can we run back to my house? I forgot to grab my meds earlier," Vien eventually said, tossing the rag in the sink and washing his hands
"Yeah. Do you wanna go alone, or do you want me to come with you?"
"I can just run in," Vien said, drying his hands off before rubbing absently at the back of his neck
"That… doesn't answer my question…" Vin said quietly.
"I…Yes, you can go with me," Vien said, confused for a moment
"Okay." Vin awkwardly rubbed the back of his head.
Vien glanced outside, making sure Baal and Ruby were okay before walking towards the door
Vin followed him and grabbed his keys, still feeling the stifled sense of awkwardness, though the moment has passed.
Vien got into the car, looking out the window as he did so
He sat down, feeling more empty than usual, to remember that he forgot to take his medicine. Dammit. He put the key in and shifted the stick shift.
Vien continued to look out the window, bouncing his knee as he did so. God, he hated when he forgot his medicine. It turned him into a wreck
Vin tightened his grip on the wheel and resisted the urge to leap out the window; he wanted to be alone. He drove faster.
Vien felt the urge to start apologizing. But for what? He didn't even know, he could just tell that something was wrong with Vin
Vin swallowed. He suddenly felt sick, yet he felt oddly empty. Oh god… Vien's house was coming into view. He pulled into the driveway and forced a smile.
"I'll be right back," Vien said before hopping out. He jogged up to the door, unlocking it quickly before stepping inside. He made a beeline for his meds, which were kept meticulously in a cupboard next to the sink
Vin's smile faded fast, and he grabbed his hair. Stop it! No one cares! Just put the smile back on your face.
Quickly Vien pocketed the meds, hands shaking as he did so. Damn it, stop shaking. You are better than your conditions, he hissed in his head before speedwalking out the door. "Sorry about all that, are y-" he began to say when he got in but was stopped by how Vin seemed to be in distress. "Are you…Are you okay?"
Vin's hands flew down and they hit the center of the wheel, which honked the horn. It scared him out of his wits, and he knew it was bad already; tears were already welling up in his eyes.
Vien, still having to take his medication, jumped as well. Though he was quickly panicking when he saw Vin's tears. "Oh my god, I'm s-sorry, are you okay? Please don't cry, I know I went in without you but I needed my meds, please don't cry."
Vin shook his head and deeply inhaled, forgetting every maneuver to calm himself down apart from that one. It… didn't help at all, and Vien's panicked misconception as to why he was crying didn't help much either.
"I-I…What can I do to help?" Vien managed to ask, icy blue eyes wide as he watched Vin panic. What was he supposed to do? He didn't even know how to manage his own panic attacks, so how was he supposed to help?
Vin shook his head, struggling to keep his emotions at bay. "I-I'm fine. I jus.. just need to take my me-medicine." Will that help? He doubted it.
"You can't drive like that, babe. Please, we're both wrecks right now but you can't…Please, let me do something to help," Vien practically pleaded
"No, I'm sorry." He felt his lip quiver; pushing Vien away hurt. "I-I can make it back."
"I…If you're sure," Vien eventually mumbled, a small pang running through his chest. Was he not good enough to help Vin?
Vin cleared his throat and inhaled. He quietly resisted curling up into his arms and shifted into drive.
