@Crisis

I don't have access to YouTube at the moment
But conditions apply
They must say it to me, and they must be in my age range
And they cannot have s criminal record, unless it's for something sensible like self defense or protecting someone else, if they're going to marry me

It's literally a 3 and a half hour video of someone saying the scientific name for titin

Omfgosh

@Pandapocalypse

It means titin
It is literally just the scientific name for titin

Idek what that is

Neither do I…
Thats what the internet is for.
Titin, also known as connectin, is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the TTN gene. Titin is a giant protein, greater than 1 µm in length, that functions as a molecular spring which is responsible for the passive elasticity of muscle.

Well
Science

@kat_i_am

Ooh, I don't know much about marine bio but I do love bio in general… accidentally took 3 years of bio in hs lol……
and no physics…….

@kat_i_am

Science is difficult
I don't understand it and I'm gonna fail

What kind of science
Cause I gotchu covered
unless it's physics

@Crisis

This video is just interesting… so yeah… I know we have both Americans and Brits, so here.

Woah

Idk very but my teacher was very vague on amino acids

Amino acids are the basic building blocks of protein. There are twenty of them. They bond together in different orders (and these chains can be super short or super long) to form proteins. The protein's structure depends on how the chain of amino acids fold; hydrophobic amino acids bundle in the middle, hydrophilic amino acids go to the outside.
Anything else? I have some more, but I also like…. You prob don't need as much depth as I do lol

What does the way they are structured affect, and how does it affect it?

@kat_i_am

The structure of a protein affects its function. A protein can only perform its function if it's in the proper shape. Extreme heat can cause the bonds between amino acids to break down, changing the structure of the protein, and thereby preventing it from fulfilling its function.

@kat_i_am

depends on the protein…..
Let's get a real life example. You know when you get sick, you get a fever? That's your body trying to denature the proteins of the pathogen (the germ), bc if they break down, the pathogen can't attack your cells.
So a fever can do it.
Or like…. when you cook food, it breaks down the food's proteins. Like how food gets softer? Like veggies

That makes sense
