"I know it does baby, I know. But it'll all be fine. Trust me." His voice was soft, gentle. He didn't want to scare her.

Fine. But only because I can't torture you for too long without getting bored. But I'll be back. There was a noticeable shift in the air, a slight lift like something had just been taken off her shoulders. But there was a sharp pain in her wrists, one she recognized quite well. Handcuffs. She might be free for now, but she was a prisoner of whatever this thing was. She raced up the stairs, hoping to explain what happened, but she stopped outside the door. Who was to say he would believe her? After all that she'd said? She sighed quietly, walking back down the stairs. He didn't need her confusion right now.
"Come back," He yelled softly, he could hear her breathing get closer and then fade, "Don't go," he said quietly.
"Am not." Rory crossed his arms. "For your information, I won the triathlon last year."
"And you won because your freakish arms helped you swim and you put a motor on the bike,"
"Okay," she sighed. "Wait, but Ryder, what if you have the beast that it's looking for?" she asked, suddenly worried. Darren said that whoever had the beast would need to be killed…
"I think I'd be able to tell if I was possessed. According to legend, this thing is nasty. It's pretty obvious when someone's possessed by it." He didn't know how else to convince her. He wasn't possessed. He knew that.
"Mmmm… Okay." She looked up and gently kissed him.
She hesitated, then walked back up the stairs and into the room. "I'm sorry. I don't know what's happening but I swear that wasn't me, I would never say something like that, much less think it." She blurted it out all at once. She couldn't help it.
"Am not." Rory crossed his arms. "For your information, I won the triathlon last year."
"And you won because your freakish arms helped you swim and you put a motor on the bike,"
"My freakish what?" Rory frowned. "Also that's cheating and I only do that in dire circumstances."

Ryan nodded but didn't look up at her, "Maybe he's in your head, he does this thing where he can control people or at least get into their heads. He's done it before,"
"I love you Ginger. I would never lie to you, you know that don't you?"
"And manipulate thoughts? Use someone to break another person down? Actually, yeah that does sound like something he would do. Trying a different angle, maybe? I don't know, I'm just so done with this."
"I know. But my mom… She still didn't know about you. Neither does my dad. And that's not a good thing."
"They'd probably be against you having a boyfriend, right? Imma have to run for my life cause they'll attack me if I walk in?" He was so used to that kind of treatment. Walking in, meeting the parents, getting attacked, and then racing out like the devil himself was chasing him.
"Probably. But I don't really care anymore. And we don't have to tell them."
"And manipulate thoughts? Use someone to break another person down? Actually, yeah that does sound like something he would do. Trying a different angle, maybe? I don't know, I'm just so done with this."
"He has done this before though,"
"Am not." Rory crossed his arms. "For your information, I won the triathlon last year."
"And you won because your freakish arms helped you swim and you put a motor on the bike,"
"My freakish what?" Rory frowned. "Also that's cheating and I only do that in dire circumstances."
"So all the time," he teased.
"We don't have to if you don't want to." He smiled a little, pulling her close.

"So all the time," he teased.
"eXcUsE mE?"
"Let's not. This is to perfect to ruin."
"So all the time," he teased.
"eXcUsE mE?"
"Was that a voice crack? Woah,"
She sank to the floor, drawing her knees to her chest. She winced at the pain in her wrists, noticing that they were now had black and blue rings circling them. Bruises. The handcuffs were tight.
"So all the time," he teased.
"eXcUsE mE?"
"Was that a voice crack? Woah,"
"If we're gonna get along I suggest you stop making comments on my morals and my 'pathetic human form'. Got it?"
She sank to the floor, drawing her knees to her chest. She winced at the pain in her wrists, noticing that they were now had black and blue rings circling them. Bruises. The handcuffs were tight.
"STOP!" He yelled, it echoed through the house, it was a deeper voice than his normal one and almost instantly things changed. There were no veins and bags below his eyes, his skin was no longer pale. The darkness in the room turned to a brighter shade that he hadn't even noticed had left.
"What the-? What happened?" She looked around. Nothing seemed different but something had definitely changed. It was somehow brighter.
"So many things were wrong with me then. I… I screwed up." She opened her eyes. They were glossy, filled with tears.
Lillian's eyes were vacant. Her knees went up to her chest and her arms wrapped around her body. Her breathing was shallow, the-the-the accident.
"Lillian… It's all my fault!" Paige sobbed. "I… I… I saw the car coming. I jumped in its way," she admitted sorrowfully.
"W-Why?" Lillian asked. Why did the van hit them? Why did Paige jump in front of them? Why? Why?! WHY?!
