"It's just…" She sighed. "I'm going to be completely honest here. I'm starting to doubt if this is all going to be worth it in the end. I don't know why, I've never felt like this before, but now I do. We've dealt with so many things for what? A day or two or peace before the next thing? It's like my life is being controlled by a force I can't see! We've dug a grave and fallen in and I'm really starting to get tired of trying to climb back out."

"It sounds like directions… Let's break it down," He seemed a little less salty when he had something to do, "North to the Tower of the bitter winds…. I don't know yet. South to the land of the scorching earth? Sounds like hell although there is a place where you can see the fires through the ground here, it's a cool ritualistic place. West to the graveyard of what has already lived? Sounds like all graveyards but nonetheless, there is a graveyard of lost souls down here. East to the temple of birth, there is a temple where some souls become demons under special circumstances, it's also where demons are born."

"Paths will cross and winds shall change? Who's path? The only 'wind' in the underworld is when the great power arrives or a force of overwhelming good/light enters. The cursed shall meet the sons of Bane. There is a demon down here named Bane but I'm not sure that's who this is referring to… And when the sun burns the limit of the world There they will find their troubles…. unfurled. Sounds like something's gonna happen then you'll be freed but maybe follow these directions first?"

Ginger took the ice and gently put it on the tattoo. For a second, it felt better. Then, blinding pain racked her entire body and she threw herself into her hands and knees. Her wrists throbbed from the fall, she'd default done something to them, but she could barely feel anything.

"Woah!" He dropped to the ground next to her. "Are you okay?" He helped her up and set her on the couch. "What happened?"

"It's just…" She sighed. "I'm going to be completely honest here. I'm starting to doubt if this is all going to be worth it in the end. Ryan took a step back, it was more of a stumble as his feet were suddenly uneasy. "I-I… We're doing it together." he looked like he was on the edge of tears, overwhelming emotions hit him, "It's worth it to me because I get to spend my life with you but if you don't feel that way…"

Ginger curled into him and cried. "I don't know," she whispered. Her head… Her wrists… Everything hurt.

"No no no, that's…not what I meant." You're ruining this. Shut up! You're losing him. I thought you said you'd never hurt someone you love. I would never. I don't know what's happening. And you lost him. He's leaving you. You broke him. "Shut up! Shut up shut up shut up! Get out of my head!" She sobbed. This thing, whatever it was, was definitely what was causing all this.

Ryan sat on the edge of his bed and ran his hands through his hair, the Nogitsune was quiet, things were normal for once and just as the normalness returned, it ended again with Belle. He didn't mind their crazy life, it kept him from falling back to who he used to be and every second with Belle was worth it, what was there to sacrifice when all he needed was her?

He held her close, gently stroking her hair. "It's okay, you're okay now."

Her breath began to calm down. She knew she'd come here for this reason. Her head still ached beyond belief. "It hurts. Ryder, everything hurts…"

Fine. But only because I can't torture you for too long without getting bored. But I'll be back. There was a noticeable shift in the air, a slight lift like something had just been taken off her shoulders. But there was a sharp pain in her wrists, one she recognized quite well. Handcuffs. She might be free for now, but she was a prisoner of whatever this thing was. She raced up the stairs, hoping to explain what happened, but she stopped outside the door. Who was to say he would believe her? After all that she'd said? She sighed quietly, walking back down the stairs. He didn't need her confusion right now.

"Am not." Rory crossed his arms. "For your information, I won the triathlon last year."
