“Yeah, they are.” He hit the surface of the counter a couple times and pushed his cup forward.
“Yeah, they are.” He hit the surface of the counter a couple times and pushed his cup forward.
“Needy,” Vien teased before refilling his glass. “But hey, at least you h-have friends. Even if they are assholes.”
“I hardly have two. I don’t know if I can count you, if I can, well, then it’s two.” He laughed meanly at himself and gulped at his drink.
“I like to think I’m reliable,” Vien said, now pouting theatrically as he leaned against the counter
Vin shrugged. “Y’know, man you’re my bartender and you’ve probably seen a lot more of me than they have so meh, why aren’t you?”
“My point exactly. Even through I only ever see you drunk,” Vien said with a shrug. “But seriously, do you o-only have two friends?”
“Yes, counting you. Men like me don’t have a lot of friends.”
“Well, I think you’re rather nice for an alcoholic,” Vien said, shrugging before reaching behind the counter. He opened a beer, taking a sip of it
“Being an alcoholic seems to be the problem, though.” He laughed gently and sipped at his drink.
"Well I'm an alcoholic, you're an alcoholic. Hell, most of the population is alcoholic. That shouldn't matter, should it?" Vien said with a shrug
“Appearently, it does.”
Vien made a sort of confused expression, his head tilting a bit like it always did when he was confused about something. He took another sip of his drink
Vin rolled his eyes again and sipped at his drink.
Vien frowned in thought for a moment, glancing down at the counter before looking back up at Vin. "Say, how about you stay after closing time? Maybe we could go do something…friend-y," he suggested with a shrug
“Yeah, that’ll inspire me not to get too drunk. Alright.” He nodded.
"Cool," Vien said, flashing Vin a rare, genuine smile. He took a sip of his beer, glancing around the bar for a moment to make sure that no one was causing any fights or damaging property
Vin grinned back a little, curious as to what Vien would want from him. He finished his drink and payed for them, but stayed at the barside.
Vien tipped back his beer, tossing the empty bottle in the trash before glancing at the clock. There was a jingle of bells from the door opening, and the other bartender walked in. "Wonderful, he's on time for once," Vien said before walking out from behind the counter
Vin watched his friend walk out from behind the counter. “Whatcha doing?”
"Called in the other bartender so we could leave early. Apparently I d-didn't feel like waiting until closing time," Vien said with a shrug. He began to walk towards the door, glancing back at Vin. "Well? Coming?"
“Uh, sure.” He threw on his jacket and followed him out the door. “So what were you planning?”
Vien shrugged. "Don't know. What do friends normally do?" he asked with a small laugh, suddenly realizing that he didn't really have a plan on what to do
“I dunno, I only have one friend other than you!” He put his hands in his coat pockets.
"Well…What do you like to do?" Vien asked, reaching into his pocket for a cigar and lighting it before taking a drag. He blew the smoke out in a ring, glancing over at Vin as he did so
“I don’t really have a hobby I just kinda… drink.”
(lol)
"Well…I guess that's a thing we could d-do," Vien said, shrugging before taking another puff of his cigar. "The bartender always hides the best liquor," he chuckled
“Well, somehow, you’ve gotten me out of my blind want for drinking. I’ve probably had enough for today, anyway.”
Vien chuckled at that. "Well, would you look at that. I've distracted an alcoholic from his drink," he said, cracking a grin before taking another puff of his cigar
“Yes, really, congratulations.” He said sarcastically as he walked.
