Cheeseburgers were nice and Ace floated in his dreamscape, bouncing off of them and eating them. Then the dream took a weird turn. The whole sky was filled with upside down and backwards birds, the air turned into pea soup, and Macha's face, enlarged, looked down at him from the sky.

(Yeah. Dani is going through some bad memories right now, but hasn't woken up yet.)
"Gah!" Ace woke up in a sweat, his chest wound had reopened and was bleeding purple blood. He sat up, then regretted it. The pressure he put on his wound stabbed at his chest and blood flowed more freely. He lied back down, "Where did the cheeseburgers go?!"
Dani's mind drifted, bad memory to bad memory. NO!! DON'T!! PLEASE!!! DON'T!! Matteo's scream rang out through the silent night. Then Izzy's. "Matteo! Izzy!" Dani screamed.
Izzy. Mateo "Dani. Dani. It's okay." Dani had slid Mateo up on her knee. Blood was everywhere. "No." She sobbed. "No. I can't loose you too."
"Dani it's too late. This was not your fault." "No. No no no no." They were dead. She hadn't saved them. Her best friends. Gone. Dani started sobbing in her sleep.

Cheeseburgers are nice. "Macha!" Ace whined, "The cheeseburgers?" he messed up a bit on that last word because of the blood dripping out of his mouth and nose and ears.
Zander was shot back into consciousness by a sharp pain in his head. He groaned, looking at Dani, she was sweating and looked uncomfortable. Zander got up, and put his hand on her forehead,it seemed warm , but Zander was no expert. He went to the door and looked outside, searching for a nurse.
Dani sat up. "No!" She screamed.
Zander whipped around and ran back to Dani," What's wrong Dani?" he asked.

Macha heard Ace murmur something and her heart leapt as she leaned closer so she could hear better. “Ace?”, she whispered softly.
Dani hugged her knees to her chest. "M-Mateo. Izzy. No." She sobbed.
"Mmm..Cheeseburgers.." Ace opened his eyes. "Cheeseburgers?"
Zander wrapped his arms around her," Who are they?" he asked softly.
Macha, despite the stress taking over her face, burst out laughing. “Ace?”
Dani leaned against Zander's chest. "They–they were my best friends. They didn't deserve it."
"The cheeseburgers!?" Ace's mouth sent out a steady stream of blood as well as his nose and ears. "The bouncy cheeseburgers with the pea soup air?"
Zander spoke softly," I'm sorry, I'm sure they didn't deserve it. "
Macha was growing increasingly worried as she gripped a wad of tissues, wiping the blood away hurriedly as it kept coming and calling for the nurses, panicked.
"The cheeseburbers!" Ace was strained and tired, he reached one bloody hand out and noticed that he was missing a finger. "MACHA!!!! MY GODDAMN FINGER'S GONE!"
"They didn't even have powers. They weren't supposed to be there!" She told him. "But they followed me anyway."

Ace wiggled his fingers, staring at the loss of his middle one.
" I believe that they might have done it because they cared." Zander soothed." Even if they knew the risks."

Some kind of stupid joke.. Ace mourned the loss of his middle finger. Now he wouldn't be able to flip anyone off.
Dani nodded. She closed her eyes for a moment and leaned into Zander's hug further. "I know."
