"Well… technically we do have school, but it's quite different. A lot of it is battle training, though. Battle training usually begins at age four, and you're expected to be able to fight by five."
Chris whipped her head towards Nathanial and snorted. "School is so much worse." Chris gave a laugh, his shoulders shaking.
Nathaniel was quiet for a moment. "We're taught Latin as well… and Hebrew." I don't think he understands that young children are being taught to fight to their deaths…

"Oh wait, you're like 8 right? Crap, I won't be in the same school as you." Chris mumbled as he paused his typing to think.
"I'm being enrolled in school? That… makes it seem like I'll be here a long time…"
"Hey we have to make you like you just moved here, mate, it makes you kinda normal I guess." Chris countered.
"I suppose so… but I'll be expected to know things that human eight year olds know. I understand some math and science, but it's not actively taught. Literature is taught frequently enough… but history would be a problem. I know nothing about human history."
(It has suddenly occurred to me that I didn't eat breakfast or lunch. …..it's 4:55 pm my time)
"It'll be fine, we can just say you don't know any American History and stuff." Chris covered it up as he resumed typing.
"But I don't know Italian History either! Don't you think they'd expect me to say something on that? Or should I just pretend I don't speak English??"
"Say that you know little English." Chris replied. "Trust me, elementary school is easy."
"But then I'll forget that I'm supposed to be speaking Italian! Can't I just speak English?"
"No, dude, don't blow your cover ok. As long as you're on Earth, danger is going to be looking for you."
Nathaniel sighed, looking anxious. "I didn't know it was so hard to live on earth… although I guess it's pretty difficult in heaven too. I don't think many humans are forced into battle by age six."
"No actually, we die every month, no pressure." Chris piped up once he had just enrolled Nathaniel into his new school.
Nathaniel froze. "Wait, wait, wait… what did you say about d-dying?" Death was still a bit of a sensitive topic for him after watching Lloyd get killed.
"No don't worry Mate, it doesn't really happen around here any way." Chris quickly covered up his mistake. "But be careful, you're not immortal here, anything can kill you."
"Technically, the most commonly accepted definition of immortal just means that you can't die of old age, but you can still be killed. In which case, I'm still immortal. And… so was Lloyd."

Chris nodded. "Sorry." He mumbled before he got up to get himself some food.
Nathaniel sighed, waiting for Chris's father to arrive. Quite frankly, he had no idea what to do.
