Holly held her daughter tightly. "I was so worried about you."
"I'm here," Ginger assured her. "Thanks to Leo."
Holly noticed Leo for the first time. She eyed him suspiciously.
"He followed me, I did not bring him," she added, whispering.
Rory plopped down next to him, careful to avoid the rake.
(Last thing said)
"So you levitate things… move them with your brain but not when there are people around…why?"
"Oh I don't just levitate them." Rory said. "I mean, yeah but I can also do this." He closed his eyes. A nearby leaf started floating, then promptly changed into a banana. "Freaky huh?"
Leo chuckled, "Yeah, sorry. I just wanted to make sure she got home safe. And she did, so we all good."
Why am I so awkward? It's literally just a per- Never mind. Forgot about my social anxiety.
"More like awesome!" Darren smiled.
Rory took the banana and started eating it. "Thank you Darren. How're you feeling?"
"I'm feeling fine, no headache so that's good,"
Holly smiled appreciatively. "Thank you."
Ginger leaned her head on her mother's shoulder, then jerked up quickly. She looked at Holly with wide eyes. "Is Margaux home yet?" Holly faltered. Ginger's shoulders dipped slightly. "I'll be inside." Without another word, she hurried up the walkway and disappeared through the front door.
Holly turned to Leo. "Sorry about that, I didn't think that she'd say that…"
Leo shrugged, "It's fine. As your daughter said, my name is Leo Phoenix. Lillian's older brother."
"I'm feeling fine, no headache so that's good,"
"Oh great!" Rory smiled. "How's Lillian?"
Lillian gave a thumbs up from the leaves, "Grand."
(Did I ever come up with a last name for Ginger?)
"Wait how long have you been there?"
(I don't know. Make it snap. Ginger Snap)
"The whole damn time," Lillian responded.
(Lordy)
"Well that just goes to show you how observant I am." Rory sighed.
Lillian laughed, "I don't blame you honestly."
Leo shrugged, "It's fine. As your daughter said, my name is Leo Phoenix. Lillian's older brother."
Holly extended her hand. "Holly Katraz. Ginger's mother. Oh you're…! Your sister has been amazing for Ginger."
Leo shook it and grinned, "Glad to hear."
(Where did Darren disappear to…)
(Wow I summoned a full grown Darren)
Leo shook it and grinned, "Glad to hear."
"I can't thank you or Lillian enough," Holly sighed.
(Yes.)
Leo chuckled nervously, "It really was nothing."
Holly released his hand. "Do you need a ride home? It's the least I can do."
(Shade left and never came back. Cries)
