@Fraust

Maddox stood up and jumped onto the pool. He stayed on top of the water because it had frozen beneath him. He smirked before practically skating across the lake as though daring Dusty to try and keep up.

(It's funny imagining a horned horse doing that… Lol.)

Dusty raised an eyebrow. "You do realize that I could melt this entire lake if I step on it, right?" she asked. Standing, she demonstrated by reaching out and tapping the ice with her foot. It melted, but not all the way through. She didn't let it.

@Fraust

(Yeeep)
"Well, why do you think I'm running?" He laughed and continued galloping around the lake, gradually tightening his circling so that he would end up in the middle.

@Fraust

Maddox stood in the center of the pool, waiting for Dusty to melt everything he had done. Nearly the entire lake was frozen at this point, and there was a thick trail of ice showing where he had been.

Suddenly, Dusty got an idea. Her eyes lit up, and she grinned at Maddox.

"You might want to get off the lake," she suggested, starting to turn into a phoenix once again.

@Fraust

"Alright, if you say so." Maddox leapt into the air and didn't come down. He seemed to be hovering, or standing on the trail of light again.

@Fraust

Maddox sighed and trotted through the air over to the bank, floating down and landing softly on the grass.

With one last grin at Maddox, Dusty lifted into the air. She flew high, then dived down low, repeating her stunt from earlier. The fire she had created spread across the frozen surface of the lake and made quick work of it.

Once she had melted everything, she flew back to the edge of the water and changed into her human form. She shot Maddox a very smug smirk.

@Fraust

Maddox transformed back as well, his arms crossed. He was smirking as well, however. Little did Dusty know, he was forming a snowball in his hand. After a moment or two, he jumped backwards and threw it at her, transforming into a unicorn and running off through the air.

Getting a face full of snow was surprising enough in the winter, but it was even more so in the summer! Dusty huffed, though smiled, as it melted and dripped down her face and shirt.

"Oh, it is on, horse-boy!" she exclaimed, laughing.

@Fraust

"Come on and get me! I know you can fly!" He glided easily over the treetops and out of sight for a moment. He soon popped back up, running through the air.

@Fraust

Maddox shot between tree branches, remaining mostly hidden from Dusty's prying eyes. Let's see… where to now? He slowed to simply gliding peacefully just beneath the treetops.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(I gtg soon.)

With an inward groan, Dusty searched with her sharp bird's eyes. When she didn't see him above the trees, she tried searching below them. She finally saw him and let out a trill of triumph.

@Fraust

(Oof)
Maddox heard the noise and sped off through the canopy out of sight again. He bolted above the trees, leaving a trail of light behind himself that quickly faded.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Seriously?

Dusty shot back up and hovered just over the treetops, silently searching for Maddox. When she found him again, she quickly flew over and trilled loudly in his ear.

@Fraust

"Ah!" Maddox jumped and hit his head hard on a stiff tree branch. "Ow…" He was starting to get a bit lightheaded, and was drifting down to the ground.

@Fraust

"Yeah… m'fine." Maddox transformed back when he hit the ground, rubbing his head and looking up at the branches. He was swaying subtly, but he didn't comment further.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Dusty swooped down and landed beside him. She turned back and walked over to Maddox, gently placing her hand on his arm to steady him.

"You certainly don't look fine," she argued. "C'mon, let's get you somewhere you can sit down."

@Fraust

"Really, I'm okay." Maddox insisted, but Dusty led him away anyways. "I'm just a bit lightheaded from flying, using magic, and hitting my head."

@Fraust

Maddox sighed and sat beside Dusty by the pool again. He rubbed his head and felt something… sticky. He was bleeding. What do I do now?! I can't take my hand down or she'll notice the blood…

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Dusty carefully watched Maddox, worried that he'd gotten hurt more than he was letting on. Her stomach clenched with guilt that she had been the cause of an injury. She noticed him keeping his hand on his head and narrowed her eyes slightly.

"Are you sure you're okay?" she asked, genuine worry lacing her voice.

@Fraust

"Er, yeah. Great." He slowly took his hand down, careful that his palm was facing away from Dusty. He brought his hand down to the grass, breathing a mental sigh of relief. I don't think she saw…

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Dusty raised her eyebrows disbelievingly. "Uh-huh. Okay. If you say so," she said, looking out over the lake. She clearly didn't believe that Maddox was telling the truth, but she wasn't about to show that.
